What material is your crinoline? Dark Green shouldn't come out grayish black...

I tried to dye my crinoline green. I bought the dark green RIT and it came out greyish black!!!!! Be careful before you try it! Luckily, it is a hand-me-down and I bleached it so I am going to try with Kelly Green!
