We’re having our e-photos taken in two weeks from yesterday. That means I have 14 days to go to make as much progress as I can on my goal to lose at LEAST 10 lbs for them (I’m 4 lbs. down).
Anyway, I don’t HATE the way I look right now, but I know I won’t be comfortable in the pictures if I don’t feel comfortable in what I’m wearing. I’m torn between dressing up a little bit (like a sundress and flats) for them and wearing what I always wear: jeans and a tee.
The FI could go either way. I just have to decide.
I’m 5’7″, size 38D (Usually a size L) chest and I’m looking for the most flattering tops you can think of. I’m looking for a solid color (even white) and I need recs!
The photos will be outdoors, like in shoppy/town area in NY in the evening.

If you’re uncomfortable with how things are fitting, I would opt for a sundress. They’re looser fitting than jeans, so if you find the right one, you might be more comfortable in that. Maybe pick a darker color too (more slimming).

Bring a change of clothes! That’s what we did, and it worked out perfectly. I would start out in a sundress, take some pictures like that with FI equally dressed up, and then you both switch into something more casual (jeans and a cute top for you, jeans and a polo for FI). You get much more variety in the pictures that way. Plus (at least for me) you’ll be able to get different types of pictures in the jeans than the sundress: jumping, running, things like that.

I second the notion of a change of clothes! You’ll find somewhere…a starbucks mayhaps? 😛

LOL we changed in the back seat of our photographer’s car 🙂
I would recommend wearing a casual dress and shoes with heels (not flats) – I just think that will be more flattering in photos, and I tend to stand a little taller and straighter when I’m a bit more dressed up than I would in casual clothing. I would stay far away from tee shirts and any material that is similar/flimsy/thin — you don’t want something that is going to cling to you or show every trouble spot. If you do go with jeans I’d recommend a more structured top, and I’d still probably still wear something with a heel since I think it helps make my legs look longer. Try to find emphasize your best parts, if your legs are nice wear skirts and heels, if your waist is tiny wear a belt, etc.
Can you look through photos of yourself in different types of clothing to get an idea of what you like/don’t like in photos?

I like the change of clothes idea as well! It’s nice to have a variety. We ended up doing two shoots (one non-pro last summer, one pro as a gift in the fall) and the colours are so different it’s nice to have a choice!

Def just do changes of clothes, the photographers will expect this anyway! We changed in a restroom and our car for ours. As for the jeans and top, why not try layering to help alleviate any stress about the way stuff fits? Layering is an easy way to hide perceived body flaws. Have fun doing the photo’s!
