The Golden Gate Bridge is a natural spot, and there's the Japanese Tea Garden nearby that would be great for photo ops.
The Fisherman's Wharf or the Lombard Street area would be cool too!
San Fran is such a beautiful city!
Check out Legion of Honor...the columns make for really cool pictures and you can get a really nice view of the Golden Gate from that area.
Chrissy Fields is nice too, it's across the street from the Palace of Fine Arts and it also gets you a good view of the Golden Gate, and you can do cool beach pictures there.
Golden Gate Park is full of great places. One of the stops we made was at stow lake to take pics on the rowboat, around the bridge, there's a nearby waterfall, etc.
Golden Gate Park is beautiful...they have a Japanese Friendship Garden there as well (they charge a small fee to enter though). In the city you can get a lot of urban shots if you want more color and texture. Also, Ocean Beach is pretty especially around sunset. San Francisco has so many scenic places so you can't lose.
Oh and duh the Palace of Fine Arts but it has been under construction so I don't know if it is open to the public right now. It is near Chrissy Fields and the Exploratorium.
The beach at Chrissy field is pretty with a great GG bridge view as well.
OMG I visited San Francisco for the first time this month while assisting Neil van Niekerk at a photography lighting workshop. It is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Tons of locations to do a photo shoot. The Golden gate bridge, the redwood forest right past the bridge, the beaches, china town! I would never run out of places to shoot there! As a photographer my self It is a to die for place to work taking photographes.
Thanks for all the great suggestions everyone! We took our e-pics this weekend! We ended up starting out at GG Park, Stow Lake and the Chinese Pavillion, then we headed over the bridge to the Headlands to some abandoned military bunkers that had some awesome graffitti as a backdrop (out awesome photog's suggestion). It was a little chilly, but the sun was shining and we had a blast!
How exciting, please share photos when you get some of the teasers!

We're taking our E-pics up near San Francisco this weekend. Neither of us are from san francisco, and I'm certainly not all that familiar with the city. Any suggestions on locations?
