I agree with staying away from prints. The color thing depends on where you are having your pictures taken. We did neutral colors because we were taking pictures outside and I wanted it to look neutral. You need to be careful with patterns on your shirts because it might be too much. I think the plaid scarf would look good, the shirt may not.

@lindsleyphotography: Thanks! There was a picture on there with the exact patterns we'll have..just different colors. It helped to see what it would actually look like.
Sometimes it looks neat when you wear something more earthy or dark and then have a pop of color with jewelry. I love looking at the work done by a former Bee turned photographer....Mrs Avacado. A lot of the pics I see that look really neat are where the girl has some awesome necklace or belt or something that is a bright blue, or red, or green etc...

Our engagement pictures are on Tuesday and I'm still trying to figure out what to wear. It doesn't help that we jsut got 8 inches of snow but all of the stores are already selling swimsuits and summer dresses! Our photographer told me we should wear earth tones/darker colors to make our faces stand out more and to stay away from patterns and prints on our clothing. I have one outfit picked that follows the rules except FI will be wearing a plaid shirt. My other outfit has FI in a solid grey shirt but my outfit is an off white shirt with a plaid scarf! Do you think these will still look okay? Has anyone else been given these rules and did you follow them?
