While my FI and I have lived just north of DC for 2 years now, we still don’t really know the area all that much (blame it on financial reasons). He’s a nature guy and I’m a city gal, so we don’t really “explore” as much as either one of us would like, since we like different things. Enter the engagement picture dilemma: where on earth are we going to have them taken?
A lot of people do it in a place that is significant for both parties for one reason or another, but we just don’t have that down here. We met in NY, I lived in Philly and he lived outside Baltimore for a year (LDR), and then we moved closer to DC to live with each other and start a life together. So where should we go??
After some debate and outside opinions, we decided on Brookside Gardens per suggestion by our photographer. I was originally looking at this place for a wedding venue bc it looked beautiful but it was a bit too expensive.. so why NOT have our e-pics taken here? At first I was thinking “eh, gardens, at least there should be a nice backdrop”.. and then I was looking at pictures and reading descriptions online and I had NO IDEA how many features and different areas they have in the gardens! I just got immensely excited, and we decided to go check out the area a few times before we actually take the pictures.
Has anyone been to Brookside Gardens before, and have any tips or helpful tidbits about the place?
