So after waiting and waiting on a pretty day to arise we got a suprise and are having our epics done friday...

the plan is something different so we are going to some of our favorite hiking spots and doing some waterfalls shots and woods shots and real outdoorsy shot

Then we are going down by the river to do some more formal shots at sunset

Well I have gained alot of weight and nothing I have fits unless it has a stretchy waist (for me anyways I am a lil over 10lbs heavier than what i am use to & i carry it all in my belly and my upper thighs ) and since I am so short under 5 ft tall this has made finding new clothes almost impossible because I always had to shop the kids section for bottoms and shorts and such before to get the right fit and length.Juniors shorts are way to short even on me and I am still to small for womens sizes... SO I came home yesterday after shopping for 5 hours with one pair of bermuda shorts and well honestly a lil bit of a broken heart.

Welll fiance just got a bunch of new clothes so he is good I was trying to just buy something to go with what he had.

Our photographer has requested that we do not wear white, black or grey for our casual shots and said we needed a solid bright or a pastel color to give a good contrast for the woodsy shots.

Well the only shorts I found Teal is the only color other than the ones listed above that look good on me that I can wear with these....

Well this posed a problem of what color fiance could wear to compliment me... welll he had a teal shirt as well...

I know these are really crappy quality pictures but

Do you think this will look to Matched for the photos if we both wear teal?

Also what do you think about our more dressy outfits together...

I THINK THEY'RE BOTH A LITTLE TOO MATCHY MATCHY-- MAYBE GO FOR THE SAME TYPE OF LOOK OF COLORSTORY- BUT NOT COORDINATING OUTFITS

I really like the second set of outfits, and maybe you could break up the teal in the first set with accessories (like a scarf, bag, etc?).  Also, I'm just over 5' and I hear you on how hard it is to find clothes.  I find it's easiest sometimes just to get pants that fit well in the waist and have them hemmed to the right length for $10.  Tailoring really opens up a whole new world of options!

I think the teal look is too matchy matchy, but I love the other look!  You could also wear your teal number with his fancier outfit and vice-versa!

I think the first ones (the teal blue) are too matchy-matchy.  I'm ok with the second look.

They are both to matchy. Our potographer told us that its not a good choice to be so matchy. You can have your FI in a blue shirt, mabey you can get like a white sundress with blue accessories?? Just stuff like that.

i agree, not a fan of the first look, but the second is cute. Maybe he could even wear gray instead of black in that one?

well i do get alot of my stuff altered but I dont have enough time to find someone to do it i only have till friday morning

We are not just going to be posed in the first set of pictures we are going to climbing hiking... we are gonna be under a waterfall  sitting on top of a water fall all of that... sooo I dunno

I feel so frustrated and discouraged I want things to look nice but I dunno what else to do.... any ideas on what color shirt would look on fiance that would not fall into the black white, brown or gray catagory but that would go good with teal

The second outfit is cute on both of you.  The outfits in the first...while cute and nice, are just tooooo matchy, matchy.  Can fi wear a different color shirt and you still wear the teal?  Perhaps pale yellow or navy for his shirt?

I like the 2nd but agree with the previous posters that the first is too matchy-matchy. Does he have a nice button down that would compliment your teal shirt?

I think even a deep red shirt would look good on fi for those outdoor shots.

well we arent going for too dressy in the first ones ...but that is pretty much how we dress on an everyday basis...

I dunno i can look through is closet tonight and see but most everything he has is either really dressy or  a graphic tee and I dunno how well that will look in the photos

Complementary colors always look great together.  The opposite of teal would be a raspberry color.  Does he have anything in pink?  Or think jewel tones - ruby, teal, purple.  Also, I think some of the "matchy matchy" look comes from just wearing a solid shirt with no accessories.  Try to dress a little more like you would usually would with more complexity and layering.  Think about what looks good in catalogues.

I like the color of the shirts in the first look...but I don't think you should both wear them ( a bit too matchy matchy!) but I love the second outfit (just the right amount of matchy!)

I think the first outfit is definitely way too matchy matchy. Second one might be okay.

when we first thought of our engagment pics we didn't want matchy matchy either.. but i ended up going the friday before my shoot and found a cute black top and jeans... and he went the morning of because he didn't want the shirt he originally got.. so we both ended up wearing black tops and jeans LOL the pics came out good i think. It all depends on you as long as you comfortable...

I agree, switch them up!  You wear the cute dress with his teal shirt, and he wears the black shirt with your teal.  And I think maybe accessorize a little, too--a bright scarf, big earrings.  I always tell people to dress how they normally would but with a little extra oomph, usually in accessories.  It'll be great.  Plus, if you switch them up, your engagement pics will all be a little different but still go with each other, if that makes sense.
