We had 1 outfit each, but that's because we took them ourselves & we did it the day we went out of town to a black & white art/concert show, so we looked extra nice & matched :).
I wore two outfits. One a dress and cardigan with heels, the other skinny jeans with a top and flats.
FI wore one outfit, jeans and a black button up shirt. When I was wearing the dress he wore the sleeves down, and when I changed into jeans he rolled them up. So it looks a tiny bit different.
We just got our pics done this past weekend and we wore 2 each. Most of our pics were taken in our "dressy" outfit. I wore a summer dress with a white cardigan and heels and he wore a nice button down with dark jeans and dress shoes. Then we switched when we went down by the lake and I wore jeans and a white top and he wore a polo and jeans.
I agonized over what we were going to wear and in the end the weather wasnt cooperating with us and we only wore 2 of our 3 outfits. Dont stress too much, just dont wear clashing colors.
We did one each, except I changed my shoes half way (to flats). I really like the way they came out, sort of a day in the life...
We each did 3. 1 super casual, the 2nd casual, the 3rd semi on the dressier side. All of our chosen clothes were things we felt comfy in.
We are doing 2 each. One outfit we both will have on our Atlanta Braves shirts, and the other we will have on nicer clothes.
I would have LOVED to have had two outfits, but we only had a one hour session so I didn't really have the time.
Instead we compromised by wearing half dress/half casual outfits
I wore 2 casual outfits. I just wore jeans, had 2 different shirts and 2 different pairs of high heels
My husband wore (sort of) 2 outfits. He wore jeans and the same shoes but in some photos he is wearing a black button down shirt and others he put on his green puma sweatshirt over it.
I wanted to look like ourselves!
We each just wore one outfit. Still waiting for them to come back.. She said by the end of the week!! Eeeek :)
We had three, 1 dressy, 1 semi-dressy and one super casual (our favorite sports team) but we had to skip the super casual because I spent so much time doing it up in fronf of the camera in my dressy outfits. lol
@organizedbride11: same here, the anticipation is killing me!
We each had three outfits. We wanted to have some variety between the pictures so we had a dressy outfit, a casual outfit, and a school spirit outfit (we took our e-pics on our college campus).
Our photographer told us that she usually likes to do 2 outfits so we each wore 2 outfits for our engagement photos.
We both did one outfit, and they were casual (because we never really dress up as it is). I wore jeans and a pink sweater which ended up looking great! He wore jeans and a green long-sleeved thermal shirt (that he LOVES and I bought him). The colors matched very well!
The only regret is (which may be a good thing): I don't want an engagement album because who wants to look at the same two people in the same clothes on every page? Baha! I got all the pictures for free, have most on my computer, and printed some out so we could I could enjoy them :)
We each had three outfits. We have one that was dressy casual (I wore a cute summery dress and he wore a nice button up shirt and his best pair of jeans – this is something we'd wear to go out) on the college campus where we both went to school. Then we changed into the clothes we'd wear to our alma mater's football game (I wore jeans and a jersey and he wore jeans and a Udub t-shirt) and went down to the stadium and took photos. Then we headed to one of the beaches on the puget sound and we changed into a casual everyday jeans outfit (each of us) for some photos of us at sunset and playing on the beach.
I think it depends on how much time you've got, what the photographer is willing to do, and where you'll be taking the photos!
Good luck and have fun! :)
Two fairly casual outfits each. I wore my favorite blue dress and wedge heels for most of them, and jeans and a black and white shirt for the others. FI wore jeans in both, but wore a button down with sleeves rolled up for most, and a polo in the others.
We both had four outfits. Two were casual and two were formal.
I had 1 he had 2. Well really he just changed his shirt. I just wore 1 dress the whole time.
We started our shoot of at our house, so we did our "casual" look (jeans/tees) with our dogs in the backyard... we changed before we left to the lil downtown area into our "business casual" look (skirt/dress pants & button downs)... we changed once more in hubby's car (tinted windows ;P) into a nicer jean/goingout top outfit to finish off our shoot. :)

we each had 3, i think it was perfect! we got a wonderful variety and now when i put pictures together it looks more dynamic
We're having 2 sessions. First session we both wore 2 outfits. The second session I will wear 3 outfits and him just 2.
Wore leggings and boots
Jeans and flats
Long formal red chinese gown
Casual summer shorts or dress
Fancy short dress
@FutureKMM & @elliestan & @missjyc & @hibiscusgirl: For the couples that had 3 outfits, how long was the e-pic session? We're also considering 3 outfits and 2 locations.
@missjo117: I think ours was about 4 hours (including time at the house and commute to downtown area). Our photogs were really flexible with time, they weren't charging us by the hour and they wanted to go as long as the sun lasted that day.
2, one jeans and a button down for him, jeans and a sweater for me, one slightly more formal (dress for me, nicer button down but still jeans for him).
just under 2 hours, one location
We had three outfits, one beach wear, casual village wear and dressy city wear :-)

We're planning 3 outfits each.
Dressy: Me- curve hugging dress that makes me feel like a million bucks, heels that make my toes go numb but look awesome; Him-dress pants, shirt, tie, dress shoes)
Casual 1:Me- dark jeans, t-shirt, cardigan, pearls, ballet flats; Him- favorite jeans, polo shirt, tenners
Casual 2: Me- sundress, flipflops, sunglasses; Him- cargo shorts, a button-down shirt with sleeves rolled, flip flops.
Our session will be 2-3 hours long and we are shooting in 2 locations, a historic downtown area where we had our first date and a huge waterfront park for a picnic.
2 outfits. Just the right amount to get some fun, cool shots, without overdoing the photography experience (it'll show in your expressions, trust me).

Just had our session done last week.. We only had one outfit each because we spent a lot of time walking around and going to a bunch of different locations taking pictures. Didn't have any time to stop and get changed. It took around 2 hours. We both were casual, I wore black capris, a blue knit shirt and black dressy sandles. FH wore dark jeans, a black golf shirt, and black sneakers. We should get our e-pics back next week, can't wait!
@missjo117: sorry for the delay - ours was unconventionally long, about 5 hours (including travel time)! it could definitely be done in less time though.
