Hi.. my fiance propsed to me on christmas..and I know he did the best he could do I just wanted some opinions on my ring. I like it just wish it was a little bigger. When I show people they just saw awwww....which is getting on my nerves. Just wanted some one else opinion on the size and quality...also is there something I can add to make it pop a little more???

I think your ring is beautiful!  If you want to add some more bling, you can always do it with your wedding band, but I think your ring is perfect as it is!  Congratulations!

I agree with Miss Olive.  I think your ring is beautiful but can understand wanting a bit more bling.  :)  I think your wedding band will definitely add a lot more to it, even if you don't get diamonds.  My friend has a .5 solitaire and got a lot of "cute" comments but as soon as she added bands (she has two simple ones on each side), it's amazing how much more the ring "popped".  Best of luck and congrats!

i think it looks beautiful as well - you can always get an enhancer (the ring with the two stones on either side)

if it bothers you THAT much you can always do what my sister does - she gets an upgrade every 2 years :)

Congratulations on your engagement! Please please don't let other people's comments get to you.

Is the only thing you don't like about it is that you would have liked a larger diamond or are you also hesitant about the style of the setting? I think the diamond really stands out. From the picture it looks like sits up a decent amount from your finger which I think makes it pop.

And like others have said, you can always get an enhancer wedding band.

I think your ring is beautiful!  It looks fantastic on your hand.

Usually enhancers are used as wedding bands...  However, you're not happy with it, you could get an enhancer that has stones that would sit on each side of your stone, making it look like a three stone ring, and then get an anniversary band for your wedding ring...

Oh your ring is really pretty!  I agree that the high setting really makes your diamond pop :P

Yes - check out ring enhancers on google and look for images - you get that as your wedding band, generally.

In this economy I couldn't justify spending thousands on the ring I wanted, and like you, I would not be happy with something that provoked "awww cute" from friends....judge me if you want, but i actually ASKED for a fake ring!  I get compliments everyday, one woman even ran across the street a few months ago and said she saw my ring sparkle and needed to know how much I paid for it... (i told her i had no idea, my fiance got it) =)  Its a dimonique, or however you spell it, from qvc of all places!!!  its shines like crazy, and i have never cleaned it, not once!  had it for about 7 months now!  total cost... 185 bucks.... we ordered another one just incase it didnt last long, but i have a feeling i will never get it out of the closet!

I think your ring is beautiful.  While you might say it's plain, I think it is simple and classic.  Your ring will always be "in style" for years to come!

If you're looking for bling, you can always have some diamonds on your wedding band.

I think your ring is beautiful. It's not a large diamond. I dont think anything you can do would make it look bigger. I think you should accept it for the size it is and then just move on. There's so many other things to focus on. Congratulations on your engagement. If you want a bigger diamond down the road, I'm sure you will have an opportunity to get exactly what you want someday. Just something to look forward to!

It's really pretty and beautiful and it symbolises his love for you, congratulations. Your wedding ring band could inter-lock with it, if you know what I mean, so it will compliment it.

@WeAreMarshalls:  I HAVE to ask!  Which QVC ring did you get?  I have some diamonique myself and they are wonderful.  I used to wear a diamonque e-ring  in place of my real e-ring when I went on vacations in the developing world and didn't want to risk loosing it or (heaven forbid) getting mugged for it.  QVC has VERY high quality CZ's.  Post a picture!

Like everyone else, I think your ring is wonderful.  The setting is really lovely - very flowing.  I love it because it really makes a wonderful ring to stack with others.  Your wedding band can have some diamonds.  Your future anniversary rings can add more sparkle.

Imagine stacking your beautiful ring with one of these (both from BlueNile)

First, I think your ring is quite lovely.  Second, I think you should try to remember that what is important here is what that ring represents - not that the stone isn't bigger or that people don't stare goggle eyed at it.  Who cares what anyone else thinks of it?  I would say anyone worried about other people being impressed with their ring is too immature to be considering marriage.  And while I know I'll get flamed for this - I also think its rather mercenary and shallow to "upgrade."

I think your ring is beautiful and the setting is very unique. I honestly don't understand the obesession with large diamonds, a ring is just an object and it's not equal to how much your FI values or loves you, it's not like you're walking around with a price tag on your finger for how much you're worth.

Try to not compare your ring to other girls', the size of your ring is not a reflection of your love for eachother. And if anyone makes rude comments about the ring being small I'd assume they were pretty shallow and narrow minded to judge a relationship based on a ring.

But if the look of the ring bothers you, go can get a really blingy wedding band like someone above suggested and I'm sure the overall effect will be sparkles galore!

    Its really beautiful!!

...I agree that if you want more bling, you can always do that with your wedding band...but your e-ring doesn't look "small" by any means...it looks just right on your hand and you have no reason to doubt anything about it =)

I think it's beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I won't lie, I've been really surprised at how little people actually say about your ring. You get 10 seconds at best, an aww or it's beautiful, and then they move on forever. So, what really matters is that you like it, since you're the only one who is going to be really looking at it long term :-)

@Ms.Disco: well their income goes up as time goes by - so when they can afford something more they get it - which is why its about every 2 years - just a thought - if you plan for it it can happen! that and nowadays with precious metals going up so much - you can get much more now than you could earlier for your trade ins. :)

I think that the setting is gorgeous. It's very feminine and unique. I also agree that some custom made bands for the sides will make the whole set pop.

Congrats on your engagement!  Your ring is beautiful.  Remember that.  I agree with the bling wedding band.  In a couple of years when you are in a more secure financial situation, you can always upgrade.  Or you may even find out you don't like wearing an engagement ring and just want to wear the wedding band.

My sister has been married two years and has a diamond chip for her engagement ring.  It's the best her now-husband could do at the time.  Although she hopes for a larger diamond, she wouldn't trade her engagement ring for anything.  And I know for a fact he's working on getting a larger diamond for a future anniversary.  So there is always hope.  :-)
