Hey bees — do any of you have bands that don’t sit flush with your engagement ring? My e-ring sticks out, and I don’t really want to file it down to slide a band underneath. It’s a family ring, so I am trying to keep it intact.
I may get a contoured band so that there is less of a gap, but I’d love to see pictures of others’ sets. Did you solder your bands together even though there was a gap?

@NavyBride2013: I rock the gap! My rings are not soldered together because I’m going to school to be a nurse, and sometimes I just wear the band. However, I’ve seen a set or two with the rings soldered together with a gap!

I do and love it 🙂 I have no plans to have them soldered together, I often take my e-ring off to sleep!

Mine has a bigger gap than most but I did not want a curved band. I thought I would hate it, but I really like it.
(my wedding band (the rose gold one) is too small so it’s not sitting down on my finger far enough. It will look more like the second picture when it’s resized)

I love my little gap – it highlights the unique shape of my 100-year-old ring. The bands were previously soldered together, but I think I will keep them separated because I wear the wedding band alone sometimes.

I wanted a wedding band I could wear on its own, so the gap sort of came with the territory!

I have a gap, and I won’t be changing either rings shape or solder them because they are both antique and I want to preserve them.
I didn’t like it at first, but now I don’t care and i”m excited to wear them with the gap. Also, I will probably move the ering to the right hand in the winter because my finger shrink so much and my right hand is bigger to it fits that finger bettter.

I really love the gap! I have not and will not solder, I like being able to wear my wedding band on it’s own 🙂

Bump because this is a great thread!

My set has a very large gap. I have a pear cut ring and a curved band, but I absolutely LOVE how the gap sets the rings apart! I even had them soldered to stay that way. 🙂

Here’s mine. I’m considering having them soldered to cut back on spinning, but not certain yet.

Not married yet, but got my wedding band! I will leave the rings separate so I could have the option to wearing the wedding band by itself. I actually like the gap 🙂
