I plan on wearing it on my right hand until right after the ceremony, then I'll switch it over to the left with my band. I was MOH in a wedding last year, and that bride gave me her e-ring to hold/wear until after the ceremony. Totally up to you!
Mine doesn't fit on my right hand--I will probably leave it on my left hand and then switch positions after the ceremony, unless I have my MOH carry it until after the ceremony.
The way my engagement ring and wedding band are made, I can't wear the band without the actual e-ring(it fits together like a puzzle). I am sending it in a few weeks before the wedding to have them saudered together and then will have to not wear it until my wedding day:(
I'm just wearing it on my left hand. I will switch them on my finger after the ceremony.
i'll wear e-ring as usual, put the wedding ring on top during the ceremony then switcheroo before the reception =)
ditto krissycake. I couldn't stand the thought of a bare finger. Plus, now i have a nice shot of me coming down the aisle without a naked finger, lol. you can see it's JUST my engagement ring. Kinda cool--last photo before more bling gets added!
We are doing an engagement ring ceremony after the exchange of the rings so my ring will be hanging out with the bands while I walk down the aisle!
Mine doesnt fit on my right hand either....ill probably wear it and do a switcha roo
Mine was put on the altar with the wedding rings, then it was blessed and put on my finger after my wedding band.
I'm wearing my late grandmother's sapphire ring on my right hand during the ceremony, so I'll give my e-ring to my MOH during the ceremony, I think. Definitely don't want to wear it on my right hand as I don't want to take away from the sapphire.
I wore it on my right hand and then switched it back after the ceremony to the left hand.
I am getting two eternity bands, one to wear above my e-ring one under. So i plan on wearing the one under my e-ring and my e-ring then have him place the other band on top during the cermony.
I'll probably wear it on my right hand or pin it to my dress/wear it on a necklace, something like that. : )
I'm going to have the officiant bless both rings. FI will say the "normal" stuff when he's putting the wedding band on my finger, but with the engagement ring I want the officiant to talk about how the engagement ring is a promise and the promise has been kept...and so on. I think it's a nice way to include it.
My fiance is taking y ring from me about a week before the wedding. he's going to take it to the jeweler to have it cleaned, redipped (white gold), and soldered. so i won't be wearing it before the ceremony at all=( but he was kind enough to recently buy me a "fake" engagement ring so i don't feel naked or "unengaged" lol.

what's everybody doing/have the done with their e-rings during the ceremony? do you take it back immediately for the reception, or just show off the wedding band that night?
