I always hate how long it takes! I got my butt into gear shortly before our anniversary and as a result didn’t even have my pretty ring for the big event! Super sad. I also hate how expensive it is.

I know how you feel! Mine has been gone for two weeks already for remounting and I won’t get it back til the 23rd. It sucks!

I’m wearing a cheap CZ ring til I get it back because my finger feels horrible without it.

@mrs_pudding_pop:  did you have to mail it in?  That’s such a bummer!  I have had it done while I wait before- and I did my research since my ring was bought online- I can mail it in to them for free redips for life, but by the time I pay shipping and insurance, it’s almost the same as if I just pay to have it done….and gone for less time.

@mrs_pudding_pop:  yeah my e-ring is Tacori, so it has to actually be shipped BACK to the headquarters to get redipped. so annoying. i’m going to be without it for two weeks after my bachelorette. ugh.

@mrs_pudding_pop:  I’m going to have to send mine away for 6 weeks!!! So unhappy about that. At least it’ll look pretty when you get it back

It takes mine that long, also! That is the ONE thing I wish I had researched better when purchasing a ring.  I love mine, but geez!  I’m also one of those who wears the plating off every 2-3 months so it’s gone longer!  If I let the local jeweler do it right here in town, it voids my warranty! 🙁

That stinks!!  I take mine to a local jeweler and pick it up the next day.

@mrs_pudding_pop:  I told DH – if I took it somewhere local and had it dipped… HOW WOULD THEY KNOW???  They’d be so excited that their plating stayed on, they’d never have any way of knowing I had it done elsewhere! HA!  I wouldn’t have gone to platinum, though – too much of my ring budget would have been the metal. I bought a lifetime warranty that covers my stone(s), sizing, dipping and anything I need done! It just annoys me to go without it so long!  I’m wearing a little silver (rhodium dipped!) cz eternity band till mine get back 🙂

I sent mine in for redipping last weekend, only because I don’t want it to look weird next to my wedding band. I prefer the look of undipped white gold anyway. My shower’s tomorrow and my ring won’t be back until next week. Oh well.

when i had mine resized, cleaned AND dipped, it took three days. 1-2 weeks is crazy, in my opinion.

hopefully the time will fly by, OP!

Can’t believe replating takes so long.  Had no idea.

And THIS is why I refuse to get any jewelry with plating.  (I also hate the look of rhodium, but that’s beside the fact.)
