our “search” took two months. i would link him to something, he would go “yay” or “nay”. we went to different stores, looked all over. it took a while.

the actual buying process took 2 days. we went in, chose a setting, gave them the stone for the centre, they set it, and i had it on my hand less than 48 hours later. it was an independent local jeweler, though. so that makes a difference. we also had an heirloom stone.

My Fiance walked into a shop and bought the ring there and then and proposed the next day so that didnt take long at all but if its a custome make it will take longer and if you order it online it will take time to ship and if they dont have the size in stock they will need to order it in so every time can be different

@tisposeroperche:  Mine shopped without me knowing for a month, then after he showed me what he was looking at it took another three months for us to find something. We just bought my ring earlier this week, but he has yet to propose… its locked in ring jail.. aka the wall vault for now.

So, all in all, 3.5months and still waiting 🙂 Dont worry, its a good sign that hes looking right? 😉

My Fiance did it all on his own but I got “color commentary” after the fact from people who were in the know, haha. He bought the diamond separately & then got the band/setting from a jewelry store. I don’t know how long he took but I am glad he has great taste bc I love my ring!

 Congrats girlCool

My Fiance & I went ring shopping together in NYC’s diamond district. We had a couple of appointments at different places, but found the stone/setting at the 2nd place we visited. I was sized, he paid, the transaction took maybe a half hour? The jeweler sent my diamond to be set and the setting to be made…It arrived at FI’s home ~ 2 1/2 weeks later.

@tisposeroperche:  Mine walked into Macy’s and walked out with it on the same day lol. Granted he didn’t get it custom or anything, but really it doesnt take long!!

We shopped together… took us aprox 6 weeks to find THE RING.

Sooo much to choose from… finding the RIGHT ONE that met BOTH our requirements was a real effort.

I wanted something Unique & Comfortable…

He wanted something that had a feature diamond, and was “worthy” of me and our relationship (translation = he was waaaay more concerned than I about the other C’s… Carat – Cut (Quality) – Colour – Clarity – Certification – Conflict Free / Canadian… and somewhat down the list Cost).

In the end we have an ERing that truly is representative of both of us, and I couldn’t be happier.

Hope this helps,

@tisposeroperche:  My man sat me down two weeks ago and showed me a gorgeous ring online. He asked me whether I liked it, and I told him I loved it. He ordered it the very next morning. It took awhile for sizing but it has just shipped this morning and will arrive on Monday. I’ll bet my bottom dollar we will be engaged by Wednesday.

@sillysillybee:  I hope so! That is so exciting!!!

@tisposeroperche:  My Fiance looked on his own for around a week, then he panicked over all the options and asked for my help. It took us two days after that to find one and purchase it 😉
