I take mine off for bathing, sleeping, cleaning, exercising, and dirty yard work. Also for cooking and doing dishes.

My mom also took off hers. I can’t imagine wearing it all the time.

I sleep in my e-ring almost  all of the time.  I rarely take it off during the day – maybe just to clean it.  That said, there are nights that for some reason i feel like taking it off and I do.  I think it’s completely a personal choice.

I think it’s about 50/50 from what I gathered on Weddingbee. I never take mine off unless I’m making, say, meatballs by hand or I need to put vaseline on my hands overnight. If I took it off, I would totally lose it. I’ve never scratched either of us either and I have a whole lotta bling action going on. It’s insured, so if I knock a stone out, we’ll get it fixed. My mom never took hers off, either. Although Darling Husband takes his off for showers and stuff b/c it slips. Frankly, mine is so thick that if i took it off a lot, it rubs my skin raw to do that. It fits SNUG so it’s a pain to get on and off. I just leave it; my finger is its home and it likes to stay there =]

I take mine off all the time at home, but I don’t ever NOT wear it out. Does that make sense? I’m tired! Anyway, I have chubby hands and it’s an antique style setting, so the band is thicker at the top, so sometimes it’s not comfy. I always sleep in it though. It feels weird not too.

I don’t see how people can ALWAYS wear their rings. I’ve been married for 6 years on Sunday and trust me…things come up when you have to! Like pregnancy and childbirth for instance. I don’t know one person who’s fingers didn’t swell beyond their ring size at the end.

I wear mine almost all the time. I do sleep in it. I take it off if I’m doing something that will harm it or get it really dirty.

I definitely take mine off. Actually Mr. Swan told me to take it off when I sleep because he’s gotten gouged with it a few times. I’d rather have him sleep peacefully than wake up without an eye. 🙂  I also don’t clean with it or wear it somewhere like the beach where it might get lost. I’d rather be safe than sorry. I have even forgotten it sometimes when going out for a quick errand. It doesn’t matter here though ’cause men don’t seem to look at ring fingers for some reason and still say things to you. I guess that’s NY for you. 🙂

Like many of the posters here, I take mine off when I’m cleaning, doing dishes or any types of physical activity where the ring might get damaged…I also take it off when I go running or work out…It’s not a big deal to take it off, in my mind, it’s just a symbol of something, doesn’t mean anything unless you take it off bc you are angry or something…

I take mine off for showering, sleeping, especially “hands-on” tasks (like getting into dough when I’m baking) and the like.  I’m so clumsy that if I kept it on all the time, I know it would get banged up in no time.

I don’t take mine off, but it’s setting is pretty low and there aren’t little diamonds that might fall out or something.  I just leave it on because it doesn’t really get in the way of anything, and I’m pretty sure I’d lose it 🙂  I typically only take it off if we’re going camping or something, or maybe if I”m cleaning with harsh chemicals.  Otherwise it’s always on.

my fi is actually the one who wanted me to take it off for sleeping, showering, etc, and i’m glad i listened after i learned more about my diamond. it’s a family diamond from the 1920’s, and they way that they cut it back then made the outside very weak, so it has chips and scratches in it already, and it wouldn’t be hard for me to make more damage. we’re going to get it recut to make it stronger, but until then i take it off.

I sleep in it, shower  in it. But I take it off if I’m cleaning my pets cages or making messy food or doing yard work.

I never take mine off!  I’m too scared to lose it, its insured but the mother and the Fiance would kill me!  The center stone was the Fis mother.  Besides I like showing it off!

I only take it off when I get in the shower and get ready in teh morning- it sits in the wooden ring box from the jeweler- and when I’m done getting ready- i put it back on. I don’t like getting it all gunked up, and definately am not one of those gals that leaves it on and puts lotion on, etc.  I think that you should take care of something- and to me, i think i am responsible to take care of something that is more expensive than the brand new car i just bought…

Yes, of course I take it off! Showering, sleeping, cooking, cleaning, exercising. Anything that would be uncomfortable wearing a ring. Fiance understands that we’re engaged whether or not I’m wearing the ring.
