I just have the two (one in each ear). I never wear earrings anymore due to allergies (and didn't wear any on the wedding either).
I think if I had the same amount of piercings as you I'd probably only wear the 2 earrings, just because it's simple and classic and something you won't regret down the road. But that's just me.
Just two. One in each ear. I remember the first ear didn't hurt at all and was stunned when the second one did. I always have some kind of earrings in...except when I sleep.
I'm done with piercings.
three times a day? i could swear it only used to be twice a day...when you get up and before bed. anyway, i got my first pair in my lobes at 10, a second hole in my left lobe at 12, and a hole up in the left flange when i was 16. (i got a hole in the left side of my nose when i was 15, but you didn't ask about that, lol.)
I don't have any piercings! A few months ago I finally decided to get them pierced, but chickened out at the last second. A month later I found out I was pregnant, so I guess it's a good thing! lol
@JewishBride: Wait, what's this about pregnancy and ear piercings???? What do I need to know? Haha, I'm not pregnant yet, but one day!
I think I voted wrong, since I have 4 in each ear, so 8 total. 3 on each lobe and one top/cartilage piercing on each ear as well.
The 3rd hole sucks most because it's so close to your cartilage so it hurts a bit more (more than actually piercing my cartilage, in my experience). I usually just wear diamond studs in holes 2 and 3. I'd stretched my lobes in HS and have since taken them out. They've shrunk back so I can wear rings in my 1st hole, but I've just never gone out and bought more normal earings for those.
I'll probably wear just my cartilage piercings and my 1st hole for the wedding.
I have four, although it used to be five. I got my ears pierced for the first time when I was 11, one hole on each side . A couple of years later I went through some teenage angst, sterilized a needle and put two more holes in my left lobe myself. Not long after that, I did another one in my upper left cartilage, but it bugged the hell out of me because my long hair kept tugging on it, and I eventually took it out.
I rarely wear anything in the two extra holes on my left ear now, but they've never grown over. I'm glad, it's nice to still have the option when I feel like having a few extra sparklies on my ear. I didn't wear anything in them for the wedding, though.
I've got 5 (two on each lobe and one in my left cartilage).
I wore earrings in all five for my wedding too. Pearl studs in my 1st set, my mom's diamond studs in my 2nd set, and my fake diamond stud in my cartilage.
I have 3 in the lobes of each ear, my conch pierced on one side, and the cartilate pierced on the other ear and an industrial piercing as well as one other you cant see
OP-I find anything done with a gun hurts alot in comparison to a needle, but all of my piercings I've had done with a needle have virtually no pain...I also think I have a high tolderance
@NDBee: Yeah I had my cartilage pierced a few years ago and I don't remember it hurting as much as this one. I had to take it out because it got inflamed. Eww! I'm so glad it healed. I heard cartilage doesn't always heal when it gets infected.
I have two piercings in each lobe, my cartilage pierced on my left ear, and I just got my tragus pierced a few months ago. The cartilage piercing hurt for YEARS after I did it! I couldn't sleep on that side of my head for ages. I finally got to a point where it feels better now, but I'm never having anything pieced at Claires again! I did the second piercings in my lobes myself, and had the tragus done at a tattoo/piercing shop.
I just wore my first and second holes for the wedding (Dh bought me some nice topaz studs and I made matching topaz chandelier earrings).
@mrs_pugetsound: If it makes you feel any better, genius me in college got my cartilage pierced at Walmart! You know how if you buy a pair of earrings, you can get a piercing for free? Well, me and one of my sorority sisters convinced the lady to put one earring in each of our ears and we spilt the cost of the pair. We each spent like $5 to get our cartilage pierced at Walmart.
Luckily, I didn't have any issues with it though.
4 in each lower lobe (so 8 in the lobes) and 2 cartilidge on my right ear, 1 on my left. So 11 total. I usually only wear earrings (gauges) in the first holes. I've pierced my right ear over 25 times though. Got to love rebellious high schoolers!
Oh man Claires messed up my 2nd hole. I got it when I was 9 but the girl who did it must have done it crooked or something because one hole is half closed. I used to have to really force earrings thru until it hurt too much and now from the back its closed. But from the front it look like I have 2 holes. My other ear is fine. I got my first hole when I was about 6 weeks. But the experience with my 2nd hole turned me off from getting another.
@Mrs.KMM: Oh no!!! OWW!! I'm glad it didn't give you any problems though...you're lucky! I read up on it more just recently, and it seems that they can actually shatter your cartilage if they use a gun and it hits it the wrong way! Eek. But I was like you...just got to college and the first thing I wanted to do was something my parents never let me do when I was under their roof! LOL I wish I'd have researched it more before I did it!
I have 2 but one is a size 2 gauge and the other is a regular hole... I might get a 3rd but probably after the wedding since I don't want to have to shop for more wedding jewelry lol. You can see my big hole and little hole in this picture =D
I only have one in each ear. I got them pierced when I was seven so I don't remember too much. My ears were super sensitive so now I'm afraid to get them pierced again! I also went to Claire's and my holes are uneven :( one is SUPER low.
I have five in one ear and two in the other. except for the very first pair, I did the rest all by myself with a needle. I was in middle school at the time.
I have a few other piercings I got when I was much younger. needles don't bother me at all.
@redheadem: Oh no! Don't worry! They just don't recommend pregnant women to get any piercings b/c you have a higher risk of infection (b/c your immune system is weakened).
I have two now (just one in each earlobe), but at one point I had seven, and I'm pretty sure I could reopen like three of the ones I don't use pretty easily. I had two in each earlobe, a conch piercing (that thick back cup of the ear), a rook piercing (the little ridge that hangs down in the top of your ear) and a tragus piercing (the little triangle thing at the front). I also had my nose, navel, and the back of my neck pierced. I think that covers all of them, haha. I had them all up until about 2 years ago when I had surgery- I took them all out and realized the ones I could get back in probably weren't worth it- it wasn't the professional image I wanted anymore and I wasn't as attached to them emotionally as I'd thought. So they all stayed out.
Just my two ear holes! Got them when I was 7 and I have always told my mother I wish she just would've gotten them done when I was a damn baby so I wouldn't have to have the anxiety and the pain of getting them pierced lol. I have always contemplated getting second holes or cartilage pierced, but I've always just stuck with my regular holes. I pretty much wear studs or hoops everyday but when I go out I love to wear big fun funky earrings!
@redheadem: Yeah, you got lucky and so did I! I had mine done at a hair salon with the gun, and thank goodness they turned out ok...I guess you're actually supposed to get it done at the tattoo/piercing parlor so they use a hollow needle rather than the gun. Like @mrs_pugetsound:, they can really jack up your cartilage with a gun. Eek!
I think my worse piercing of all was my bellybutton. I hollered like a mf, pretty sure I swore loud enough for the lounge to hear me. But I was a genius and went crowd surfing at a concert that night, so I blame any of the days after pain on me being an idiot. Hahah.
I just have 2 holes, got them when I was 8-ish. But I stopped wearing earrings for so long 1 hole closed!
So, like a child, I went to Piercing Pagoda 5 weeks ago and had the young girl re-pierce my ears, at the age of 30. I wasn't going earring-less for my wedding! FH was highly amused. He said I was so good, he took me to Auntie Anne's afterwards for a pretzel - yum! LOL.
So I had a true 1990s mall experience that day!
I have 3 in each ear but on the left they are all in the lobe and on the right the third is a cartilage peircing.
I wore jewelry in all holes on my wedding day!
@Stammie16: Aahaha I love that last part. FI didn't coddle me at all because he said it was my choice! Boo.
@redheadem: Aww! FH is also very aware of my ear-cleaning needs! He asks me every morning and before bed if I've cleaned them, its too funny!
@Stammie16: Stop it! That is so sweet. He'd probably be nicer if it was my first hole, not some weird uneven third hole haha.
I had my ears piecered from the bottom to the very top. I stopped wearing them a long time ago when I got out of my "weird phase" NO OFFENSE to anyone who wears this many earings...it was just a part of a weird phase for me. It actually disformed a part of my ear :(
I have 2 on each side as "regular" ear piercings, then I have a cartilidge piercing that I think is probably closed up by now, and a conch piercing...with a ring stuck in it that i cannot get off for the life of me.
I wore earrings in just my first holes...and the conch...
One in each lobe and an industrial/scaffold, which is 2 cartiledge piercings connected by a bar. I love it and get tons of compliments on it (surprisingly, old people really like it lol). It's like this but my bar has a lightning bolt shaped sheath around it:

I want to get my lobes pierced again but I've been lazy.
2 in each lobe, then 3 in my left cartilage and 1 in the right cartilage. I usually wear them all but sometimes I feel like it's too much metal so I'll take a few out.
Two in each lobe. Got the first two for my birthday when I was 13. Got the second 2 when I was working at a Claire's and my co-worker and I were bored out of our minds. The second set has given me immensely more problems than the first. The first set can go 6 months or more without any earrings, and I can just pop studs right in with no problems. Second set will close up in a few days if I'm not careful. I keep a few pairs of baby stud earrings around for that. They're smaller in diameter than most regular posts, so they can help open up the holes for a few days until I can get normal earrings back in them.
My second set appears to be uneven, but they're actually spot on. It's my ears! My ears point in very slightly different angles on either side of my head, and you can just barely tell, if I'm wearing just the right earrings in my top holes.
I have 3 in one ear and 1 in the other. I wore jewelry in all of them for my wedding. I've thought about getting another but if I do I will definitely go to a professional piercer. No guns.
4 in the left, 3 in the right. The 4th hole on the left is uptop. For my wedding, since I was wearing blingy earings I just left the 4th one in and my borrowed was diamond earings from my sister which I wore in my 3rd hole.

A week ago, I got a third ear lobe piercing. I got it on a whim at the mall when walking by Claire's. I forgot how much it hurts and how annoying it is to clean with that cleanser three times a day! And umm the girl who was working at Claire's was definitely a teenager. How embarrassing.
How many ear piercings do you have? Did you wear earrings in all your holes on your wedding?
I'm not sure I'll wear all my earrings on the wedding day. I have my three holes in my right ear and two in the left, with the second in the left ear being in the same place as my third in my right ear. I probably won't wear an earring in my second hole in my right ear.
