we decided to have our wedding ceremony early what i would like to know is for 1. is 10am to early to have a ceremony? 2 11am for recepton about 1145 lunch wiil be buffet stye after lunch 3. cake and cocktail hr and and dancing and pics throught out an between time etc. and over by 330 pm is that ok? and also is that enough time? later that nite we will get with our closes family and friends have a short night in the town from 8pm to 11pm. we save money and its cost efficient please let me know what yall think.

This really belongs in the “logistics” category.
Cocktail hour typically happens before the reception, but since your reception will start around 11AM you can’t really serve cocktails. If you’re not serving cocktails, you can’t call it a cocktail hour. 11:45 lunch sounds fine. Dancing and cake afterwards leaves you ending around 3:30 like you said.
You don’t have to serve lunch right at noon. Lunch can technically be served until 3. A 10AM ceremony puts you getting up very early. Talk to your photographer and see what they think. They have been to many, many weddings and know what works and what doesn’t. Remember that you have to have time for photos!

@GingerSnap2013: As someone who’s ceremony starts at 10:30 I do not think yours is too early. You may want to work with your photographer to figure out if this is enough time for him to work with though.
