Early morning workout bees!!

Before any workout, I either eat a plain, non-fat Greek yogurt or string cheese.  You want something light, but that will also have a good amount of protein. A hard-boiled egg or something along those lines is also good, too!

I second the hard boiled egg, they’re lifesavers on my morning runs!

mk0589:  I usually grab a bananana and a handful of almonds before my morning workout. And I always make sure I drink a good 20 oz of water before, too

I think a hard boiled egg and then maybe something like a banana along with plently of water would be a great idea.

My issue that early in the morning is that eating anything makes me feel sick. My body is not ready for food until I’ve been awake 30 min to an hour. So I continue to work out later at night when I have more energy.

I eat half of a whole wheat english muffin with some natural PB and reduced sugar jam.  I feel like it’s a good combination of quick burning carbs and slow burning fats and proteins, and still small enough to not feel like a brick in my stomach while I’m trying to work out.  I also drink around 32 oz. of water over the course of the workout.

I’m not enough of a morning person, but I’ve heard a half banana with a spoonful of PB is a great easy light boost.

I don’t usually eat before I workout in the mornings unless I’m doing 2+ hours and then I like to have a cup of skyr (icelandic yoghurt type stuff) and muesli or a banana.
