I’ve been reading a ton of DIY posts on making wine bottle centerpieces, or doing your own wine bottle labels, and they all seem to have their own method of removing the labels on them..some of which scare me! So hopefully I can save a bride or two some time, pain and sanity.
Grab your wine bottle. Rip off what you can of the label; don’t try to be perfect.
Soak a paper towel or cotton ball in regular old vinegar.
Rub the sticky leftover papery mess that’s on your wine bottle where your label used to be with the vinegar soaked paper towel/cotton ball.
Voila! A few SECONDS and it’s gone! No stickiness!
Don’t believe it’s so quick? Try it!!!
So keep the razors in your drawers, and stop soaking your bottles full of wine in warm, soapy water (ewww).
Hope this saves at least one bride from bottle label agony.
P.S. A quick wipe of windex over the label spot will erase any remaining vinegar smell for those with sensitive noses.
P.P.S. New labels printed on regular paper can be adhered to the wine bottle with a glue stick! Use acid-free, of course.
