It’s awful, they prey on ignorance. Those sellers should be ashamed. It pays to do a few minutes of Google searches before buying anything from any website.

@SmileyKitty:  if the price is too high, no one will buy / they’ll buy from a more reasonably priced seller.

Sometimes sellers will shoot for the moon but reality will leave them holding inventory in the long run if they don’t adjust.

@SmileyKitty: Yeah – that eBay price is insane. So glad you’re a savvy shopper and didn’t get ripped off!!

Yeah, I totally hear you there. I’ve seen some items too that seem like a really great price-until you see what they’re charging for shipping. My jaw dropped the other day when I saw a $12.00 with a $103.00 shipping fee. WHAT?? That better be a type-o!

@SmileyKitty:  The ebay link you posted is from Ebay Australia. Might have something to do with the high price they’re asking for (everything is waaaaay too expensive here!)

@SmileyKitty:  In that case… that sucks. But you got a good deal! 😛

I sell on eBay, before I list anything, I look up “completed” listings. This shows me the exact item I have and what it has recently sold for. I then price it based on those prices. So yes I May price an item at $100 even though I only paid $3, it just depends in how that item is selling.

When i first started I was shocked at the prices I would get for some items ($150 for a USED baby blanket that was retired). a fellow ebay friend pointed out not everyone lives in a place where tons of stores are at their disposal. Therefore it is actually cheaper for them to pay a higher price and have it delivered to them, then trying to go to the store.

Now in the example you gave, maybe there was at one time a shortage of these sets (maybe over the holidays) so prices spiked and the seller never brought them back down? Or maybe the seller was out of his mind, there are a select few lol!!
