@Shesaidyes:  Whaaaat? I have never seen anything like that! I am SO not a pearls person but that is so spectacularly awesome! Even without adoring pearls the way you do, I’d jump on that in a heartbeat! Those would look INCREDIBLE together.

As for the non-durability of pearls…well, like I said, I’m not a pearl person, so I have no idea. But lots of people have pearl engagement rings, so why the hell not?

The pearls may be impractical, but they do look really good together.  If it doesn’t bother you that you may eventually have to replace it, I say go for it.

@Shesaidyes:  No! It’s not just you!

However, in the spirit of full disclosure, I am very often in the minority when it comes to my opinions. 😀 At least, when it comes to voicing them. In reality, I might have the same thoughts as 99% of the rest of the population, but if they don’t say anything, I have no way to know!

I have a white gold engagement ring and a simple-as-it-gets rose gold band. It’s not an unusual combination (not since joining this site, anyway! I had no idea beforehand that a) rose gold existed, and b) that people regularly mix-n-match), but it’s juuuust different enough not to be totally boring (for me) but still So complementary! I say the same totally holds true for what you’re thinking. They are very different, both simple but distinct, and they go so well together!

@Shesaidyes:  YESSSSSS. Screw “can”! First of all, it looks like you have long fingers. Second of all, your engagement ring looks thin. So does the pearl band. So a second wedding band wouldn’t look weird. And if it didn’t have pearls, all the better! Triple mix-n-match (especially with an equally simple-but-elegant band) would make it even MORE awesome, like deliberately wearing several non-matching bright colors at once (ahem, my favorite thing to do, ever). Intentional mismatch is somehow complementary. So I vote yes. Obviously. And clearly I have the best, most well-worded, coherent, cohesive opinion ever, so you need not question anything any longer!

I love the combo 🙂 a modern twist on a classic of diamonds and pearls together.
