I’ve had my heart set on Jelly Belly favours for as long as we’ve been talking about our wedding … I’m marrying into an Italian/German wedding, and my FI’s mom has expressed her disappointment when Italian weddings don’t have Jordan Almonds.
What I’m thinking is having our Jelly Belly favours double as escort cards, and then a bowl of Jordan Almonds with the dessert table, or even a small bowl at each table.
What do you guys think? Overkill? Any other suggestions?

@jordyanna: I have NEVER heard of anyone being disappointed about a lack Jordan almonds lol.
I think your idea sounds nice, btw.

@jordyanna: oh the constraints with an italian wedding… I hear you! I’m of italian background and my mum would flip if i didn’t have sugared almonds!
Italian custom can be that your bridesmaids go around after the ceremony with a basket of sugared almonds…or alternatively they can go around during the reception.
I hate sugared almonds so im going to get the normal ones and the ones with the chocolate inside.
hope this helps and you can find a compromise with the MIL!

Not overkill at all! If I was a guest at your wedding I would be thrilled! Ohh the little things.

Have both..but If I was your guest I would only eat the jelly beans and steer very far from the jordan almonds….I think they are so gross!!!!

I’m in the same boat, not a huge fan of Jordan Almonds, but that’s okay!

@jordyanna: I think it’s nice to have the jordan almonds as favors. When FI’s sister got married, when his parents toasted the bride, they talked about why there were only five almonds in the favors – they represent wishing the bride and groom health, wealth, happiness, children, and longevity (I think!). I think that’s kind of neat, and having them in a bowl kind of loses that.
Why don’t you do pretty favors with Jelly Belly’s and just add five almonds to each?

I would do both! I actually really like Jordan almonds!
