lol. nope! a little hint and help doesnt hurt. I did a ton of that myself! One page I found, I forget what it was, actually had a button on the page that said "Send a hint" (or something like that) and I took a screen shot of it and put arrows all over it pointing at the word hint and sent it to him.. hehe , he got a good laugh out of it.
haha I sent my bf (now FI) probably hundreds of ring pics! I think its really about what stage in the relationship you are at--have you discussed marriage?
Oh, yes, we have. He knows how I feel about it and vice versa. We had a talk about it recently (but nothing for months before that). His mom has started calling me her "FDIL," which means to me they've talked about it (they're BFFs). We didnt do a timeline talk or anything like that, just a "check in."
We shall see. I doubt he'll mention it but hopefully he'll save it or even better BUY it! I totally deserve good CL ring karma since I sold a really great ring (from my 1st marriage) for dirt cheap! lol...
OMG... SO just called out from the other room, "Honey, that's a really good deal," about the ring. Awww.... 
Okay truth is, I sent my FI some ring suggestions, along with the names of some "family friends" that are in the jewelry biz. He did not say a word to me. He proposed about 4 months later, and did go to one of the people I listed in my e-mail!

We are both Craig's List junkies. I was perusing (okay, stalking) rings just out of curiosity and I saw one that was SOOOOOOOOOO lovely and affordable and quality. I just HAD TO send it to SO... just in case.
Of course, now I feel silly but he hasn't mentioned it so neither will I. A little hint never hurts, right?
