I was addressing my STDS and once I got about half way through I realized I might have made a mistake. I addressed all the envelopes to John and Jane Doe instead of Mr. and Mrs. Doe (or Mr. and Mrs. John Doe, etc.). I am planning on using the formal names on the actual invites. I guess I was thinking that it was okay since STDs are less formal, but now I feel like I've made a mistake. Is this a faux pas or am I having an unnecessary bridal freakout?

I dont believe its a big deal at all.  I Actually labeled mine John & Jane Doe (on the invitations) simply because I didn't want that much of a formality!  lol  (some do, some dont lol)  But, even with the STDs .... I don't think its a big deal at all.  Just make sure you change in them on your computer now so you don't forget later.  :)

i wouldn't worry about it. most people throw envelopes away immediately after they open the letter anyway! you're fine.

I dont think its a big deal. My dilemma I had with the Mr and Mrs when everyone had a differant partner so I just dropped it...

:D Save the dates are informal anyway.. and I honestly never paid attention to how they addressed me as long as it had my name on it!

Haha I did the same thing and didn't realize it was a potential problem until reading this very post!  So I hope it's ok :)

At least you didn't realize halfway through your next round of 50 STD postcards that you had been putting the stamp on the wrong side :) Obviously my brain was not working that afternoon! I think you're fine, though.. STDs are informal so I don't think it's a big deal you did first names instead of Mr and Mrs! I'm sure your guests won't think anything of it!
