I think our engagement pictures are just fated to be doomed. It was originally set for June 8th, but the photographer had an emergency and had to reschedule. That turned out to be the PERFECT day for a photoshoot. No humidity, not too hot, not too cold. Seriously, it would have been perfect.
But now, its set for the 20th. And its supposed to be thunder storming off and on all day. We’re doing the pictures in the park. UGH. To top it off its going to be super humid and hot. My face already stays pretty red, but in the humidity and heat, I turn about the shade of a tomato. I’m going to be sweating, wet and looking awful.
I’m not looking forward to picture day at all now. Like, not even a little bit.

@allyfally: I do all of my summer shoots at sunrise. It’s usually about 30 degrees cooler, not humid, not stormy, and much less chance of being eaten alive by Mosquitos. have you considered doing that?

I’m so sorry! I had an early spring wedding, so I know what it’s like to be constantly checking the weather forecast for rain. Any chance you have a conservatory or greenhouse nearby as a backup location? We did our engagement photos in winter in the midwest, so we had to do them indoors. Thankfully we have a gorgeous conservatory nearby so we got tons of lush greenery in our photos in the middle of January 🙂 If not, perhaps you have another indoor location you can use as backup? A historic building, a cute coffee shop or bakery, or a place special to you and your fiance? At the least, maybe bring a cute umbrella with you to get some pics of you and your fiance kissing in the rain? Fingers crossed for you for good weather!

Actually the clouds and more even light from the storms will make for lovely pictures. FIngers crossed!

@mariematt: I wish. But the photographer is traveling from out of state and wont be here till about 5pm.
@spring-bride: No conservatories that I’m aware of. We’re going to be in the old historic part of the city, so theres tons of pretty places. I just have to hope that one of the B&B’s would be willing to let us take pictures in their building. I wouldnt mind some pictures in the rain, but I dont want all of them to be. Actually, if its raining towards the end of the session, we were probably going to get some of us playing in the rain. Haha.
