Okay, as crazy as this may sound we may be purchasing our home next week 🙂 It is a foreclosure sale so it is not the usual purchase timeline. One thing I know for sure is we will know by next Thursday if we get it!!!
We just got approval for our mortgage and it all works out to be well within our budgeted monthly living expense which is awesome. The only thing that stress FI a bit is that there are still some wedding expenses to come… frankly he is very conservative with money and just tends to worry in general. I have looked at the numbers and I am very positive we can make it work.
The only reason we are making this purchase decision is frankly the price is amazing if we get it. It will be cheaper then renting!
Oh Bees I am trying to not get to excited about this place, but I love it already… please send positive vibes and pray we get it please!!!

We purchased our home as we were planning our wedding and I’m so glad we did (our mortgage payments are 15% lower than our rent was). If you can find a great deal that fits your needs, I don’t see the point of passing up a great home, especially if it can help you save some money. As long as you’ve budgeted correctly, there shouldn’t be too much added stress. Good luck with the home purchase!

We bought a house after getting engaged during the planning process. It wasn’t too bad. As long as you’re organized and have your finances straight, everything should be a breeze. Good luck!

We might be in the same boat! We’ll find out hopefully tomorrow what the deal is, but I mean, THIS close to the wedding, lawyer fees moving fees.. it kinda makes the head spin a little. But in the end, it would be within budget, WAY less than renting. Its a win win, right??

Thanks ladies for your replies! It gives me some comfort that we are not crazy.
Wedding is in August, but as its DW, I fly out late July… so the thought of buying a home right before we leave was not planned at all. But definietly feel like its a blessing because of the price!
