When BF and I bought our condo, it came with an electric fireplace. It doesn’t fit in to our space currently and we opted instead to put an entertainment centre/cabinet in it’s place because in our 800sq.ft condo, storage space trumps all. Our parents think that a fireplace might be a good selling feature down the road and that we should keep for when we try to sell our place in the future. I would prefer to not keep it, possibly sell it and not have to deal with it (right now it’s in our parking-area storage unit).
So Bees, if you were looking to purchase a home, would an electric fireplace be a positive selling point? Or shouls I just get rid of it?
Here is a link to the exact model we have;

BBK009: It wouldn’ t be a deal breaker for me to have an electric fireplace if I were buying a condo. They aren’t that pricey and the price will come down over the next few years.
Sell it, donate it and get a tax receipt, or have someone in your circle of friends or family store it for you in exchange for using it.

Electric fireplaces are, to me, absolutel pointless. Having one would not be a selling point at all. If anything, it would be an annoyance that I would have to dispose of.

Meh. Sell it. It’s pretty but hokey, IMO. It’s not a “selling feature” because it’s not a fixture. It’s a movable piece of furniture.
