Hey bees –
So I’m at the stage where I’m starting to look at bridesmaids dresses. I want to at least be close to selecting something by December, so I have some time.
I’m interested to know if anyone has any specific brands or lines they would reccomend for a more simple, elegant look.
My dress is this Romona Keveza:
And my mom just bought her dress and it is absolutely stunning, black skirt with an off white top, she looks insane in it, so so classy. I am literally almost jealous of her dress! No pictures yet.
Wedding is black tie, and my bridesmaids will almost all be in their 30s (I’m a slightly older bride) – a lot of styles look very “young” to me.
So if anybody has had a good experience with a certain dress or line, let me know. Pictures welcome!

What are you thinking for colors?

We’re having a black tie wedding, but I let my girls pick their own dresses. We did Dessy and just said it had to be long and in a particular color. Makes bridesmaids much happier when they have control over wha they’re wearing

@Cheeks225: Our colors are peach, gold, and cream – but I’m not even set on that for the dresses, I could go with a taupe or something.
@classyashley: That’s a really good idea – I’m not set on them all wearing the same dress, but I do want them in a long dress and I know that can be challenging with different body types etc.

Where did your mom find her dress?

@CaroBee: I think all of the long dresses in the Vera Wang line for DB are very classy and not too “young” looking: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Browse_Bridal-Party-Bridesmaids-White-by-Vera-Wang-Bridesmaids__pageSize-all
The “Blush” and “Champagne” colors might look nice with your color scheme! Hope it helps 🙂

I don’t know what your price point is – but I had Jenny Yoo dresses and I loved them (so did my bridesmaids).
Our wedding was classic, simple and elegant. Have you ever heard of Bella Bridesmaid? I’m sure there is one in NY. They carry a wide array of bmaid dress lines- some not so great, but some really great, classy ones. Some boutiques carry Jenny Yoo, some don’t. Just depends (the one in Dallas does not carry it).

I think these Amsale gowns would look great with your dress (in your colors of course…) Check out her website, there are so many different styles, you could even let the girls mix and match silhouettes and use the same color…
