I am a few inches taller than my gorgeous hubby to be and whilst he’s totally comfortable with me wearing heels I’d rather not look like a giant next to him! Also I usually wear flats so I’d rather a very low heel, like 1.5 inches.
I’m wearing a tea-length dress so I really want some lovely shoes to finish off the look and don’t want completely flat shoes but the lower heeled shoes I’ve seen either don’t go with the dress, are way too pointy for a wide-footed lady like me or are just a bit ‘blah’ (read : look like orthapaedic shoes 🙂
Where did you go for your low-heeled but elegant shoes bees? If anyone has any suggestions of shops in the UK that would be amazing but at this point I am willing to pay for shipping!
I love nearly every style of rachel simpson shoes although I am hoping to find something a little easier on the pocket!

No-one has any ideas? I guess you’re all either wearing towering heels or flats Well the search goes on.

Hey, I am in the exact same position, I am about the same height as my other half so can not get away with any heels either, Im not a fan of kitten heels at all, I agree they look pretty frumpy, dont give you the same posture and well you just dont feel sexy in em lol! I feel like a big freaky giant next to my Fiance tho in heels lol. I have mainly been looking on ebay, all shoe shops now-a-days seem to stock nothing but MASSIVE 5/6 inch heels with 2 inch platforms etc and while I love these shoes they are just no good for me! What about picking a diff colour to your dress for the shoe to funk it up a bit? I was going to go with bright red in a sling back peep toe something like that. I find with low heel shoes the more foot on show (as in peep toe or sandal etc) the less frumpy they feel – thats just my opinion anyway 🙂

I wanted low heels too, I’m usually comfortable in 2.5″ and under. There were some really good options at Zappos. I ordered about 4 pairs to try on and sent the 3 losers back. I loved my Ninas!
I also seriously considered the Lela Rose ones you can custom dye. Some good low-heel but very pretty options there.

I bought mine at Lightinthebox.com
I LOVE THEM! THEY GO PERFECT WITH MY DRESS AND ARE SO COMFORTABLE!!…and I also found some new lace covered flats at a thrift store for 3 dollars 🙂 which i bought before I found my actual shoes, i doubt that I will need to wear them for the wedding now since the heel on my shoes are low.

- Wedding: March 2012 - Pelican Grand Beach Resort
Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman usually have some pretty shoes with low heels if you are willing to spend about 300USD.

I had the exact same problem. Someone suggested shoes.com to me. Nina makes some nice options. I ended up getting Steve madden flats instead.

Nina has some nice shoes!
I just bought mine this week, the Scoo-B flat by Butter. I found them by going on endless.com and looking at the section for bridal shoes but picking the filter for flats and heels under 1 3/4 inch. I think they were $190 or $210 USD on endless.com so then I googled the style name and found them on amazon.com for $165. Endless.com is a great place to get ideas, then just search to check for better prices or if there’s an actual store near you that sells them.

@fayrhiannon: That’s a great idea to sass it up with a different colour.
