Weddingbee boards

Hi there hive-

Well, we are eleven days and a wake up from our wedding day. FI came down this past Wednesday evening. He wasn't due to come down until Thursday, but got the entire day off-so came in on Wednesday evening. For those of you who don't know-I have b/g twins and they turned 6 on Thursday. They knew we were going to have cupcakes at school-what they didn't know is that FI was going to surprise them at school with their cupcakes!

He showed up at school (my kids go to kindergarten at the same school I teach at) around 1:30 with a "cupcake cake" of Thomas the Train for Gage and Strawberry Shortcake for Madison-they both hooted and squealed when they saw him. Ran up to him with big hugs and it almost made me cry. He stayed for the singing and helped the birthday kids give out their cupcakes and then came back to my house.

We were invited for dinner over to friends-their girls are 2, 4, & 5-so together, that is four adults and five kids...and a great time was had by all with "sketti" and bday cake. We came home and opened presents-a dress up set for my daughter from FI and a Coast Guard helicopter for my son-and then FI sat there and read all of their cards to them before tucking them both in bed.

The weekend was busy-FI and I sat at the kitchen table Friday night after kids were in bed and pizza had been had for dinner-we addressed rehearsal dinner invites and wrote thank you notes. Saturday was a soccer game, running errands, a late lunch, baths for the twins, and a family snuggle on the sofa before putting them in bed and we had an evening of romance.

Let me tell you-very interesting as we both realized that it was the last time we would be together until our wedding night-interesting good, but kindof peculiar in -an "exciting-I-can't-wait-to-marry-you" kind of way. Sunday was church and for the first time in the year and a half we've been together, we were all here on a communion Sunday. (On previous visits, the twins have been at their grandparents on communion Sundays-the first Sunday of every month-it's never worked out that all four of us were here together). The children go off to children's church after the Children's Sermon and are brought back in at the end of the service as they play Jesus Loves Me. FI and I stood behind the twins as they kneeled at the alter rail and I was surprised at the tears that touched my eyes. Home for lunch and then FI was off to go home. (back the 300+ miles to SC)

There was a bridal shower thrown for me by some ladies from church Sunday afternoon-a lovely tea with punch, chocolate covered strawberries, and other tasty treats. We got alot of nice things-including quite a bit off of our honeymoon registry, some other cash and check gifts, as well as things like bath towels and two really nice picture frames that will be perfect for two wedding photos. Then we all piled in our cars, went and picked up our children and went to one of the local nursing homes, which is run by the Methodist church, to sing to the residents. I do the cherub choir for the 3 & 4 year olds, and with the help of the older kids, they sounded really good and were cute. :)

My seamstress came late this afternoon to my house with my dress and we are just about ready-one more fitting and it will be done. She is also hemming my son's pants and tacking the neckline of one of my bridesmaid's dresses-so, it was a busy afternoon. I can hardly believe that we are only ELEVEN days out!!!!
