heya,
I was just a bridesmaid at a wedding there a few weeks back. They had a string quartet play on the porch where we lined up before going down the aisle (they had it in the little lawn/fountain area). They didn't have live music for the reception though. I think the instrumentals would be fine outdoors, but I don't know too much about the vocalist. If it's just background music, it should be fine though.
Hope that helps! Feel free to DM me though I don't know too much more =) It was a bit hard for the guests to hear the ceremony though w/o amplification.

I am wondering if anyone else has gotten married at the Elizabeth Gamble Gardens in Palo Alto, CA. We are getting married there on 6/11/2011. The venue allows acoustic music only. No amplification whatsoever. I want a mellow jazzy feel for the reception and have hired a jazz piano and bassist. I am wondering if it is worth hiring a vocalist. I worry without amplification the voice may get lost. I hear conflicting things from musicians. Some say it won't work others think it will. Has anyone had any experience with this venue?
