Thanks for sharing! I've been waiting for her next one, I'm so excited! I loved eat, pray, love. I totally agree with you how you could just hear her voice through all the different places and stages. And what a fitting book to read now.
I know it is def a fitting book, esp for my fiance too he has been through divorce and my parents are divorced....should be a great book for us. Glad to see some weddingbee followers of Gilbert!! :)
I've seen it at work and thought about picking it up! But then I read about a book called Marriage is Charity or something like that and it sounded more interesting.
I've read Eat Pray Love and Last American Man they were both great! I will have to pick that book up. I really enjoyed her writing style in them, while i noticed on some reviews people say some nasty stuff about how bad her writing is.
How was Last American Man? Never got to that one, it was before Eat, Pray, Love right?
@ Ms. Brew...I didnt know there was harsh things said about her, but I guess with any job in the public eye there comes the bad with the good. But I love her books and will have to pick up the Last American Man next!
@Vero - I really enjoyed it, if you aren't really into reading about nature and living off the land then it may not be that enjoyable to read. My FI is reading it right now.
I heard about this Elizabeth Gilbert book on Oprah the other day. I wasn't a huge "Eat Pray Love" fan, so I figured I probably wouldn't read it, but the topic was interesting.
Can't wait to read her new book. But more excited about the movie- I adore Julia Roberts- see seems beyond perfect for the part.
@PeepToe...hi! I agree Julia Roberts does seem perfect for the part! Very excited to see the movie! :)
I have read a bunch of interviews with her on her new book...she seems a bit preachy about marriage - basically thinks that anyone who gets married under age 25 is crazy just because it was too early for her...curious to see if people like this one as much as Eat,Pray, Love
Just finished reading this- I enjoyed it alright. Parts of it are a little boring, and she does seem judgmental of other people getting married, as though everyone is wrong to do it just because her first marriage ended so poorly, which is annoying.
I really enjoyed this book! I like her sense of humor a lot, and I just enjoyed that she included lots of different stuff and many aspects were touches on - personal experiences, opinions, statistics on marriages, marriage in history, marriage in different cultures. I just find the info helpful and reassuring and in general, I am a fan of her writing style! Not to mention a little jealous of all the awesome traveling that lucky woman gets to do! Great read!!

My fiance and I loved "Eat, Pray, Love" and loved talking about it together. Elizabeth Gilbert words are beautiful, smart, and wonderful. I love how her voice comes through the page. Her new book "Committed" is about relationships, marriage, getting through the shadows of divorce. It leads on from Eat, Pray, Love where she met her love but he is not from America and can only stay on a short visa of 3 months. They already have made an emotional commitment to each other to be together forever. But because of the ugly divorces they have both experienced they didnt want to marry again...or so they thought thats how it was going to be....
Just started reading it today and I love it!
