hey bees! FI & i are looking at getting an elliptical for home. i have to be to work by 630 am so going to the gym before going to work would suck, and by the night time, i am just not in the mood. i think being able to just jump on for 30mins before i shower in the am would make it easier for me to fit it in.
bees with ellipticals at home, what do you have? do you like it? how long have you had it & have you had any problems with it?

I have one from Sears, got it a couple of years ago as a gift from my husband, its was around $ 600 or so. I put it in my guest room and lately i have been using it every night. Its so nice to be able to do 15 min here and there and i am right at home. ” Pro Form XP 115″. It has the digital screen to tell you how many calories are burned etc.

I bought one like ten years ago. It was during my college years and it was the least expensive Pro Form from Dicks Sporting Goods. I think with tax I ended up spending $350.00. It’s not digital and I had to put it together myself. The first few years it worked fine, but as it’s gotten older the belt has started to slip and I don’t have a way to tighten it. I guess you get what you pay for.

Ok this is my second time clicking on this thread in the last couple of days thinking you were asking for an epilator.
I need to learn how to read. Sheesh.

IMO the absolute best ellipticals (that I’ve tried) are Precor and LifeFitness, but both of those are very expensive. If I had the money, I would definitely have shelled out for one. But since I couldnt afford either of those lovely machines, I did some internet research and ended up getting a Lifecore Fitness one. I think it was around $800. It is a little less sturdy and little less comfortable to use than the Precor or LifeFitness, but it does the job. I tried out other brands, but they felt cheap, or the stride was way too short, or they were jerky and hard to use. Overall I recommend it. I’ve had mine since October and other than some squeaking, I havent had any issues with it.
Oh and I recommend you NOT buy one online if it requires assembly. Mine was extremely confusing to set up and I ended up paying the store I bought it from an extra $50 to come out to my house and set it up for me.

@gr8tlexi: i HATE when they have a short stride! that’s one of my biggest concerns with buying a less expensive one. our gym has life fitness ones which are great, but i don’t want to spend 1k< on one =) maybe after the wedding…. but probably not then either!
