Just got back from a visit to San Francisco. If you want a quick, cheap wedding with only you and your partner; go do it at City Hall in San Francisco. The building is beautiful! Google it and you'll see. Hire a photographer to take pics and there's a park across the street if you want pictures with greenery.
If you want it outdoors, have you considered going to Napa County? I'm sure a vinyard will have a private space for a small wedding. Or you can try a beach in San Francisco.
I second eloping at the Courthouse. It's gorgeous and they handle JOP weddings all the time. Ms. Mary Jane posted some pictures of a woman who eloped at the courthouse, and here is the link to the story and pictures: http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=97046 San Francisco is a beautiful, unique, interesting, fun city and great food to boot! (Sorry I'm gushing I just miss S.F. so much!)
Did you decide what you are doing ? Are you sticking to Feb. 14 ?
There are so many options in San Francisco !
I'm in SF and thinking about City Hall too. You do need to book a ceremony appointment online however! The building is gorgeous. Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio got married here. Several photographers offer specific City Hall wedding packages - here are some examples:

Another alternative depending on the weather is getting married outside - Crissy Field, Golden Gate Park, etc.
I could help you with this , but I couldn't give up that Feb. 14 yet. The only way I could offer a 1-2 hour shoot is that if another couple booked on Feb. 14 and I could do both shoots. I have a 4 hour shoot that is $1300 that I could do on that day if you wanted photos of a ton of great spots around the city.
If you end up with something that isn't right on Valentines day ( or want 4 hours on V-day), give me a call ! I know of great spots in the city to get married and could put you in touch with a minister. There are even affordable limos/towncar services in the city if you want to go to a couple spots for photos. You really just need a minister, a photographer, transport ( which could be anything from cab - limo - cable car ) , plus any extras like cake or champagne ( or just a nice dinner reservation.

City Hall is so gorgeous. An outdoor location is definitely possible---the beach would be a great idea I think. There are lots of other pretty cities near SF too where you could do an outdoor ceremony. Maybe Half Moon Bay....Baker Beach in SF.....maybe a lovely park setting---Golden Gate Park. Good luck!
Just want to reiterate how gorgeous city hall is..it would make for lovely pictures!
I hope this will not be construed as "blatantly promotional," but a little while back I wrote up some pros and cons (with photos) of having a wedding at San Francisco City Hall and I thought it might be useful to those contemplating the decision:

In February, my finance (now wife) and I decided to screw all the wedding planning and go to SF City Hall. WOW...what a beautiful venue and so stress free. We are really happy with our decision and got great pics too! The people at City Hall were great, the Judge that married us (DJ) was awesome...everything just went like clockwork. Also we got great pictures taken. A week before our ceremony appointment I did a google search of wedding photographer SF and up popped IQPhoto (www.iqphoto.com). I checked out the website and saw the $995 City Hall package.
Overall a very positive experience on a day that can be stressful. SF City Hall was a beautiful venue, the city workers were efficient, the Judge was awesome and we got a great photographer. End result is a relaxed day, pretty much stress free and we have beautiful pictures that captured our wedding that we can share with our family and friends.
If you are looking for a fantastic place to do wedding photos in SF you should consider the beach by the old bath house ruins. There is a rock in the ocean that has a heart shape hole in it. If you take pictures at the right angle you get very very romantic shots. If you take pictures standing on shore you will still be able to see heart in background! The ruins also glow like gold close to sun down! I live in SF so this is where we took engadgement photos =)

My fiance and I live in Texas and want to get away and go somewhere fun to get married by ourselves.
San Francisco seems romantic and it seems like a fun place to get married as well as a fun place for us to visit. Neither of us has been there. It also looks like it's easy to get a confidential license quickly and we wouldn't have to even worry about witnesses.
I am exhausted with looking onine at various destination wedding packages that just don't fit what I want. I would just like to go somewhere outside that is private (if that's even possible) and I would like to hire a photographer for about an hour. I would be happy with a very simple ceremony with a Justice of the Peace. We want to have fun and keep it low stress. I would love to have a good photographer to capture some nice pictures. I would rather spend money on a few fun pictures that capture a special moment for us than on a drawn out ceremony by a minister.
Has anyone done this before? Any suggestions?
