I've never eloped so I can't offer any personal experiences... but I would say to go to the restaurant that you want to go to! If you are worried about feeling out of place you could always bring a change of clothes... although I always think it's so cute when I see a bride out in "public" after the wedding wearing the dress!

Has anyone eloped before? What did you do for your dinner afterward? Did you go somewhere kind of formal and fancy? I found a seafood restaurant on the beach in a town outside of San Francisco that we both want to try afterward because it's right near where we are getting married. But it's not at all formal - very casual it looks like. I'm afraid we will look weird. We are not dressing up too much but we would still look out of place. Should we take a change of clothes? Or should we go for something more formal??? We are staying in San Francisco so that would be the only day we could go to this particular restaurant.
