After changing my mind five million times about whether to elope or not and where, I think I’ve finally decided!
My fiance and I are a product of a long distance relationship. We met online and everytime he would come to see me, we would stay in this hotel here in town, and we would always get the same room (because it was special to us). And the room is beautiful, inexpensive, and overlooks the city. My fiance finally moved to town a year ago, and every once in a while we love just to go back to “our room”. How freakin’ awesome would it be to elope in “our room”?! I am so excited about this and couldn’t be happier; I was so worried I’d never make up my mind.
So anyway, I figure we could rent seperate rooms the night before (maybe he could stay in “our room” the night before and I could stay somewhere else) and I could get all dolled up the day of the elopement while he gets the room full of candles and meets with whoever is gonna marry us, and then I could arrive to the room and have my little “walk”, maybe to an Ipod playing our song in the background. And, of course, it is super important to me to have amazing photos, and it’s what I’m willing to spend the most on, so I want them to capture us the entire day (except when we begin the honeymoon ;))
I really, really love this idea, but am looking for others’ opinions or ideas on how to make it even more romantic.
Additionally, we haven’t decided on if we are to have a reception or not. Is a reception with family and friends on the same day of our “one-on-one” wedding tacky or in bad taste? Obviously invitations to the reception would go out months prior, but we really are prefering to have our wedding be about us and noone else.
Would love to hear feedback! Thanks!
