Does anyone have any ideas of great elopement spots? It will only be my fiance and I and we really don’t want a beach wedding. I’m having a hard time finding any info online for elopement/destination packages that aren’t on a beach! We live in Louisiana and don’t mind traveling but would like to stay in the states. Anyone have any advice? I’d really love a garden/outdoor wedding or a little chapel. Nothing crazy like Vegas….just a nice place that I can wear a big poofy wedding dress and he a tux and stay traditional in that sense 🙂 *I never thought a wedding planned for two would be this tough! LOL

Maybe a cute little bed & breakfast with nice grounds somewhere? Might be hard to find a preset package.

I would look a lot at bed and breakfasts in beautiful areas. We considered eloping for a brief time and what we were going to do is go to a bed and breakfast and elope in the gardens. They usually have a package where you also get a small cake.
Edit: Also contact a local officiant where you want to get married at. They should know a lot of places that you could elope.

I know a couple who just booked a seat sale to PARIS to elope!! How romantic would that be? I know you said you wanted to stay in the states, but I thought I would throw this out there because I am very jealous of this lucky girl!
I second the B&B idea if you are going to be staying in the states. Depending on style you could also do something glamourous like get married somewhere swanky in NYC then stay at a beautiful hotel. Another idea would be to head to Napa Valley and get married at a vineyard and go wine tasting 🙂 Endless posibilities for just two people!

Have you looked into Wyoming or Colorado? Those states have a lot of beautiful state parks you could possibly get married at! Or Tennessee?

Loribeth eloped and had such a wonderful and romantic wedding. I think she mentioned the name of the venue in her recap:
Married yesterday — Pro Pics today!
Edit: They offer an elopement package

thank you all so much! I have looked into some B&B’s and I found one in Alabama that is so quaint and very private — it also had a pretty garden….THEN i found this website by doing a search on the forum:http://www.hawaiiweddings.com/

I would find some gorgeous place in nature. You really don’t need much. What about a beautiful grassy field with a single oak tree, or a waterfall, or a cliff overlooking beautiful scenery?
I think state parks are a good way to go, but I only know what’s here in Oregon.

vegas, nice park, national park, fancy hotel, NYC, cape cod resort, somewhere warm but just not on a beach. and of course court house.

We got married in Savannah, GA, at the Gastonian Inn. They have a fantastic elopement package and you can choose between getting married in their private garden or in the parlor. They did such a beautiful job with our wedding. It was just the two of us too, and we were so pleased with everything. It was absolutely perfect.
Here’s the link to their elopement package. http://www.gastonian.com/elopements.asp

- Wedding: December 2010 - Al Cielo / La Laguna
Check out the Grand Palladium in the Riviera Maya. They have a garden gazebo that is just BEAUTIFUL! It’s very private and affordable.
There is a really good slideshow of photos I saw on Del Sol’s site a while ago that showed a wedding at the gazebo: http://delsolphotography.com/blog/content/galleries/?gal=140
