Anyone else considering (or seriously considered) eloping? That is probably somewhat taboo around here, but as an encore bride I am really excited about just going away with my sweetie and getting married without all of the fanfare.

I know a lot of places seem to have elopment packages. Any recommendations? Anything that looks really good to you? I'm leaning heavily towards a beach (carribbean or maybe US) or waterfront.

We canceled our wedding and are now eloping to Secrets Maroma Beach. THey have a free wedding package if you book 7 days or more in a preferred level room. All the Secrets & Dreams resorts do this. We booked through cheapcaribbean and are getting a great deal.

My elopement clients always love the San Francisco / Bay Area (there are some beach type areas available and beautiful non-beach locations), Lake Tahoe or Northern California (Mendocino, Jenner, Bodega Bay or Sea Ranch areas are great and near the water). If you like Southern California, you can check out Coronado or La Jolla. Maybe you can find a planner in the elopement location that can help you get everything that you want. Good luck! Your big day will be beautiful and special no matter what place you pick.
