- Wedding: June 2014
So I am having a destination wedding with just me, my fiance and our son (all our family support us doing this btw as were shy people that don’t like attention). The place where we are getting married requires you to do the legal part in a registry office and then bless it in the venue afterwards.
So we decided that because we have to do a legal ceramony in a registry office anyway we may as well do it in our own country to avoid all the translation costs and then bless it and have our wedding day in the destination country… doing this also means that me and my fiance could stay the night in a spa hotel after the legal bit which will be good as our son will obviously be with us all honeymoon.
The problem being the witness thing, we need two witnesses but we really don’t want it to feel too weddingy, more just the legal part before we we go away to get married so inviting anyone we know would make that impossible…and it would probably turn into a wedding day.
Apparantly registry office are no longer able to provide witnesses for you so I am just not sure what to do. Some people just find people in the street to ask to do it but I feel that is a bit risky and as I said we are really shy.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
