@Aamitchell51:  I don’t think people can be mad because it’s YOUR wedding! Just hire a photographer so family and friends can view your photos 🙂

Here is a sweet little family elopement 🙂 http://www.linnealiz.com/mark-julie/ I cannot find the other one right now, but I know there’s another one floating around Style Me Pretty that’s amazing! I will post it if I can find it 🙂

@Aamitchell51:  Sometimes I wished I just eloped. I love the idea. There are no rules sweetie….just whatever your heart desires for your day. Although pictures would be nice to show off (like pp said) and if you have the budget, a video would be awesome and fun to watch too!!

@yandz:  That’s not the one I was thinking of! That one is lovely, though 🙂 There is another one with a little boy and little girl that is super cute. I saw it a really long time ago, so I can’t remember where I saw it! I am pretty sure it was on SMP. It’s going to drive me crazy until I find it!

@Aamitchell51:  We tossed around the idea of eloping a LOT for awhile…but we couldnt stomach the thought of his family being unable to attend, so we’re sticking with a very small wedding.

If it works for you, go for it! The more stress you can take away from this process, the better 🙂

@Aamitchell51:  DO IT! I assure you, you will not regret it. People may be offended (that’s the “catch”) but then again someone is always offended no matter what you do!!! Good luck; your idea sounds lovely!

@Aamitchell51:

Some people will likely be hurt. It is a very common reaction after an elopement.

@Dareebs:  Good grief, those are so gorgeous, those pictures made me tear up at work! Time to close my office door and get some tissues 🙂

@Aamitchell51:  It’s your wedding, elopement is certainly an option, trust me most of us have thought of it at some time.  If it’s what you want go for it!

TOTALLY DO IT!!

Just eloped to New York City last week and it was AMAZING.  We hired a photographer who took pictures of us in Central Park, Manhattan City Hall and in the DUMBO district and she was our witness at the ceremony.  It was so stress free and FUN! My husband and I were able to just focus on each other and enjoy our little moments throughout the day. I should upload the preview pic we got from the photographer….can’t beat having a picture with your new husband with the NYC skyline in the background, talk about memorable!!

I kid you not, I bring up the idea once a month. And I’m serious about it too. When things get tough, I would just rather go the simple route. I wish we would have.

But FI keeps bringing up the fact that we’ve already put down $6000 in deposits and it would kill him to just waste all that money.

So we move forward.

Plus, Save the Dates are out, so there’s no turning back now…

I’d elope. The best people will be there, you won’t have to spend THOUSANDS on one party that you won’t get to fully enjoy because you’ll be “hosting”, and you’ll have it exactly as you want it.

In my opinion, it’s the way to go.
