I am forgoing the big wedding we had planned and eloping in less than 2 months- yay! Only problem is my dress is already purchased and has a corset back. My photographer is a male, I’m doing my own hair/make up and there’s no one on staff where we are going so I can’t think of any female that will be present that could lace me up. I love my dress and hate to be out the money so I’m just curious how the rest of you eloping brides got into your dress.

mixtapehearts: My photographer did! It was a zip and then she knew how to do a square knot with my sash.
You could always ask your male photographer if he can do a corset. You never know, I bet he’s seeing it a million times!

Craigslist gig post? Offer $20 for someone local.

mixtapehearts: you might be surprised about your photog. my male photog followed DH, my bridesmaids, and me up to our room to take some quick pics of the girls bustling my dress. the girls were having a little bit of trouble. so photog said “move over girls, i do this all the time.”
they adored our photog. and he bustled my dress perfectly.

You can try a local seamstress or wedding shop to see if they offer service/assistance with that. I would also talk to the hotel (assuming you are staying at a hotel and not local – if you are local I would just ask a friend/family member to help dress you even if they don’t come to the wedding) and see if they have any suggestions.
If it is literally a remote location (like a log cabin in the woods or something) maybe ask who ever is marrying you if they know of someone (ie officiants wife?)

It is remote so no craigslist or seamstress and I’m 10000% not comfortable with my photog seeing me get dressed. I’m thinking I may bring FI to my dress fitting and have my seamstress teach him because I can’t think of any other solution.

Maybe you can add a secret zipper on the side seam?

There you go, have your FI do it!

I originally intended FI to do it…so he has seen “the dress” — then i found out i could hire a bridal attendant to do it, so i booked that.
