@turkey22:  I don’t really have any ideas if you are set on December, if you waited until spring/summer Mackinac Island is beautiful!!!

@GroovyHippieChick:  Hah!

Frankenmuth would be lovely… I just posted in another thread about beach weddings, courthouse weddings… Hmm, maybe I could convince SO to elope at a beach in MI (where I moved from to be with him)? 😉

@turkey22:  You should get married at the Hexagon House in Pentwater, its a gorgeous little B&B perfect for an elopment (and i think they even offer a special elopment package!)

Yay, Michigan!!!

We got married at the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, and it’s the bee’s knees.  The girls are awesome to work with.  You need two witnesses when you marry in Michigan (and to get your licsense 3 days before you plan to wed, so plan for that!), but it could be just you… 5 out there!

ArtPrize is going to be downtown Grand Rapids, soon, too, so there will be super cool art everywhere.  Lots of weddings have happened on the pedestrian bridge downtown or just down by the water by the fish ladder.

I went to school in the Upper Penninsula and everywhere there is gorgeous.

@turkey22:  Definitely check it out – they’re great to work with.  We got married at the big waterfall in the sculpture garden, but there are literally hundreds of gorgeous places you can have a wedding.  It’s pretty cheap to do during the day, more if you do it after hours, but then you have it to yourself for pictures and all that.
