not high enough for a ring to sit flush. I talked to a jeweler about etching away at some of the setting but he didnt think it was a good idea lol
I know there are a FEW emerald cut bees out there!!! lol
I have a rectangular shaped stone (cushion though not emerald) but it sits high enough for a band to sit flush. My recommendation would be to go the two band route, get a thin shadow-band that will bend around your ring and probably be soldered to it, then a second wider band for days you want to wear a band alone.
And I don't JUST recommend this bc it means you get more jewelry... but that is a perk isn't it? :)
(p.s. your ring is so pretty!)
@CorgiTales: Do you have a picture of what this may look like? Or maybe a link where I could see it?
Here is mine. The emerald definitely sits up higher than the wedding band, but I love it! Sorry the pic is big!

A shadow band is just a curved wedding band made to fit exactly along the contours of your ring and usually soldered onto it. Here is an example I found online, the rings are pulled apart enough that you can see the wedding band is notched so that it can fit right up against your wedding band. Most jewelers can custom make a wedding band to fit exactly with your ring.
@HoneyBear: This is a bit (maybe a lot!) late but I just picked up my wedding band yesterday- I had some of the e ring setting removed so the wedding band can sit flush. SO happy with the way the set looks!

I went to a couple of jewelry stores yesterday to try on some wedding bands with my ring.
The only problem is the rings dont sit flush because of the setting and its driving me nuts! I know there are a few settings that lend themselves to this problem (flyer fit etc) but i dont really want to change my setting.
I am toying with the idea of curved bands (i want one on each side) but I wouldnt be able to wear them by themselves without the e-ring.
So, what are the rest of yall doing for wedding rings? Post pics if you have them
This is my e-ring
