Don’t have one, but brilliant earth and blue Nile sell diamonds and settinga separately so you can pick a stone and a setting you like! Clarity is important for emeralds! Keep that in mind

I’ve got a cushion, but I would highly recommend ritani.com – I purchased my stone loose on-line from them, the prices are great and they will send two stones or even completed rings to a local store so you can view them before deciding whether or not to purchase.  Also they have pics and some have videos of the actual stone – that was the deciding factor for me between them and blue nile as I didn’t want to buy site-unseen.  Good luck!!!

mzwiggy:  I LOVE emerald cuts and really wanted one! However, my FI decided that wasn’t “sparkly” enough so he got me a rectangular radiant cut… whatever, I still love it.

He got it at Brilliant Earth which I’d highly recommend, he loved their customer service and the ability to choose his own diamond!

Welcome to the EC Lover Club!!!   I absolutely love Emerald Cuts!

My center stone is .50 Carats, H color, VVS1 Clarity.

Because you can see every flaw in an emerald cut, I wouldn’t recommend getting anything lower than a VS2 clarity. Because of the way it’s cut, there is nowhere to hide the flaws.

Oh! I would add… Emerald cuts do not sparkle. They flash, which is part of what makes them unique. So don’t expect lots of sparkle.

mzwiggy:  Thanks! I’ve had my ring for four years, and I wear it every single day and night. I rarely take it off. It’s perfect for everyday wear, mostly because the setting protects it. ECs usually have the prongs placed on the corners, so there are no weak points exposed.

We bought my ring at Reed’s Jewelers, but I would NOT recommend them. That is probably the only thing I would change about my ring, is the place we bought it.

I’m sorry, but I don’t have a video of it.

I love, love, love emerald cuts, so if you have any questions about them, just let me know. I can probably answer any question you come up with.

Mine is 1.32 carats (center stone), I color and VS2 clarity

I wasn’t originally an EC fan (I wanted a cushion cut); however, my fiance loves them and it is what he wanted to buy, so thats what we went with. I now love my ring. It doesn’t really sparkle (as other people have pointed out) but in the right light is gives off a ton of light.

I have a 3 stone, emerald cut ring. The stones are 100+yrs old. It is a family heirloom that I recently had reset as a RHR in white gold with diamonds trailing the band. The center stone is 1.01. The sides are .66 and .72. They are G color, VVS2 clarity. My ring size is 5 for reference.

It sparkles like mad, it’s actually blinding in the car. There is so much fire in the three stones, I see rainbows of color in bright sunlight alternating with huge white flashes! <br />So, I have to disagree, they do sparkle considerably depending on the stone you select. Cut will influence this. I have seen others that are “dead” and glassy. Also when they are the least bit dirty they appear less firey. I scrub mine on the underside with Dawn soap and a toothbrush every few days to keep it looking its best. My cat chases the rainbows it makes on the walls, lol. Below it is pictured indoors at the kitchen table under lamplight. My camera is a low quaility one and fails to capture crisp details though. Lots of luck to you! I’m sure you will love this classic cut! 🙂

Here are a couple of grainy cell phone pics that show the rainbows against my desk from the emerald cut diamonds and on the wall over the cat’s head. If I have the opportunity to take a video, I definitely will! 🙂
