When I first started looking at engagement rings I wanted an emerald. But the more I researched, I learned that they were not as durable as the diamonds or sapphires. So I decided to go with a green sapphire. I bought a 1.84 ct green sapphire and picked out a setting from The Natural Sapphire Company. My fiance was not comfortable purchasing a setting sight unseen. So we were out and about one day and went into a jewelry store and I saw this beautiful emerald ring and knew it was perfect. I am still planning on having the sapphire set into a rhr or alternate engagement ring one day. I’m attaching pics of my emerald engagement ring as well as pics of the loose green sapphire. Please feel free to share your green stone ring pics too. 🙂
rbeccatexas: I have a 3 ct natural, untreated sage green sapphire that my fiance purchased from Natural Sapphire Company. He felt the same way about not seeing the setting before buying, so he shopped around and ended up not buying a setting from them. It is set in platinum and has about 0.75 ct in diamonds. I am beyond thrilled with what he gave me! I love my sapphire and the color. I haven’t seen many other people with a green sapphire, so I was SO happy to see this thread!!

That is so gorgeous and unique. I’ve never seen a setting like that either. He did a wonderful job choosing that and it looks gorgeous on your hand too!!!

Tagging because I love green stones so much! <3 I want emeralds in my wedding band or at least an anniversary band. Bring on the beautiful green! If jade wasn’t such a soft stone, I’d be rocking that, too.
Your ring is Gorgeous!!!! I’m a sucker for emerald cut stones and colored gemstones (have one myself) and think your setting is stunning!
Wow Aquariuslove, your ring is stunning!!! What a beautiful shade of green!!! Thanks for sharing 🙂
