Weddingbee boards

Planning our wedding brought out the Type-A super-organised personality in me and I set about putting together some “emergency kits” after seeing various lists on the internet. It sort of snow balled and what I ended up with was two very comprehensive kits with everything that you could ever possibly need in almost any situation. I started out by buying two large tackle boxes from a fishing shop which set me back about $30 each, but if you weren’t bothered you could just keep everything in a big tub or even a bag. The list of items could also be used if you wanted to make some really comprehensive bathroom baskets. 

Here are the complete lists of both the boys and girls kits which I put together :

Boys Emergency Kit:

• Deodorant
• Aeroguard (mosquito spray)
• Tissues
• Muesli bars for quick sugar hit
• Combs
• Floss
• Straight pins for boutonnieres
• Various sizes of safety pins
• Super glue
• Tweezers
• Quick ease (for tummy troubles)
• Paracetamol
• Ibuprofen
• Antihistamines
• Redness reducing eye drops (can also be dabbed on a red pimple to take the redness away)
• Contact solution
• Spare contact case
• Various size batteries (for cameras etc)
• Cotton buds
• Stain remover pen
• Linter roller and refill
• Band-Aids (plasters)
• Tic-tac’s (so handy!)
• Hand sanitizer
• Double-sided hemming tape (no ironing or sewing required)
• Small sewing kit including threads and scissors
• Moisturiser
• Mouth wash
• Spare shoe laces
• Razor
• Shaving foam
• No-Iron wrinkle spray
• Anti-static spray
• Hair wax
• Face washer
• Shoe polish
• Wet ones (like baby wipes)
• Portable iPhone charger (bought these on eBay)
• CD with all special wedding music on
• Copy of Jon’s vows
• List of all vendors and bridal party numbers (in case Jon’s phone died)

Girls

Same as boys except without:

• Shoe polish
• Shoe laces
• Hair wax

But also including:

• Tampons
• Pads
• Hair spray
• Torch (for if you have to try and bustle dress in a not-so-bright room)
• Facial oil blotting papers
• Gel inserts for heels
• Spare earring backs

As I mentioned, we used the tic-tac’s, the scissors (to use cut a ribbon so that my mum could tie my bustle up after it broke), hemming tape (my heel when through the lining of my dress and was fraying everywhere) and some plasters for blisters.

Be warned though, I didn’t exactly add up everything I spent (I was too scared to work out the total, I mostly just bought a few things every week with my grocery shopping) but I’m sure they would have cost at least $100 each.

I had no intention of spending so much but it just kind of snow balled so be careful!
