Go for it! I dont' see anything wrong with that.
I was in a wedding once with a straight laced group of people in the wedding party. They played Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy when we walked in and it was so friggin awkward. We walked in arm in arm while this party starting music was playing. Lame.
I would say that you need something more upbeat simply because you're about to start the party portion of the evening and you should set the mood as such. Maybe "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas, "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" by Stevie Wonder or "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves. These are some of the song ideas I've been batting around for our wedding.
Ugh...I think this has been the hardest thing for me to pick so far. So now I'm thinking Run DMC's Walk this Way...
you are welcome to download my song list for special dances (its a pdf file that you can save or print!) http://tsgweddings.com/downloads/TSG-Song-Choices.pdf
good luck!

Hey Ladies! I need to get our song list back to the DJ and am having some serious second thoughts our entrance songs.
I'm not a huge fan of the typical "let get's ready to rumble", "let's get it started in here", "rocky theme song", etc type of entry songs - it just doesn't fit us (me especially).
We were think about using IZ's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" for the bridal party and then going to the Straight No Chaser "I'm Yours/Somewhere Over the Rainbow" for our entrance and the cake cutting (which will be right after we enter, before we take our seats).
But - now it's not sounding upbeat enough? HELP!!! :)
