Oh Bluespurrs I'm so sorry. This must be so difficult. So you're having the extraction today? DId you talk to them about possible swelling and something you can do to bring it down? I hope the procedure relieves your pain (and that you won't be too silly on the painkillers!) GL! hive hugs!
Oh goodness! How awful -- I hope your pain goes down. I agree with what Kara said, check with them about the fastest and easiest ways to reduce swelling.
So glad you won't be in pain at your wedding or on your honeymoon!!
Good luck! i think it's better to get it done and over with!
I've taken an herbal supplement called Arnica Montanna and it helps with edema and swelling. Seems to work pretty good, better than ibuprofen! Worst case scenario, they photoshop your cheek a little, but i bet nobody notices but you!
I hope you feel better! You'll be much happier and when it's said and done, it'll be a good story
I'm really sorry that you're going through this! But having experienced tooth pain like that, I'm very very very happy that you're getting it taken care of, and you will be too once the pain is gone. Lots of ice and lots of prescription motrin (I bet they'll give you some, for when you don't need the painkillers) should help with the swelling pretty quickly. Be careful drinking alcohol on those meds, though. Good luck!! Feel better!
I'm so sorry, I hope it starts feeling better very soon!
Thanks for the advice! I am getting ready to hop in the shower then go to work. FI has been so sweet, he did all the morning chores for me. I normally get knocked out for tooth extractions and will be awake for this one which would normally scare the bejeesus out of me but this hurts so much, I don't care.
Oh BS...I am so sorry! Just rest and relax. You've also had some stress lately so maybe get some rest after this. All will be fine and fall into place.
You'll feel so much better after this and maybe get some well deserved rest too before the big day!

I havent slept more than 4 hours total over the last 3 nights - my tooth and right side of my face are killing me. I went on an emergency visit to the dentist yesterday and she gave me antibiotic, and Vicidin (sp?) to try and tough it out but I can't get married with all this pain. And the wedding rehearsal is tomorrow and my last day of classes is today. So I called the dentist this morning and they got me into an oral surgeon this afternoon. I am going into work, set up a lab and having an older student (who is going to be one of my lab assistants come fall semester) run the class and put stuff away. Not exactly what I wanted to be doing 2 days before my wedding but if there is going to be a wedding, this is what must be done.
