Hi all, this is the first time I’ve ever posted anything, and I am a bit stuck!
We’re having our wedding in mid-summer, and our venue is a magical garden that just screams “enchanted theme!” at me.
We’re having red and silver as a theme with sparkles (think diamonds, crystals) and no pearls, no lace, no satin, no black. (so everything light and floaty)
Now I know that enchanted weddings are usually pastel colours, but I really want the red!! Am I a bit clashy when wanting red (like vivid red) at an enchanted garden setting?
I’m stuck for a motif (trying not to go for butterflies as I want to be different).
This motive should go on all stationery to tie things up, and to decorate (lightly) the centrepieces.
The 2 flower girls will be dressed in white, with fairy wings (Think tinkerbell) and a magic wand complete with a floral wreath on their heads.
Any ideas on centrepieces, motives, invitation designs, please help!
p.s. love all colours but pink, please don’t make me use pink! (and parents are not keen on having black)

Red and silver would look fantastic!

Intersting. When I think enchanted I usually think greens, but red would be awesome. I think roses and tree branches with crystals hanging from them would be nice. Something like this maybe:

when i think of enchanted i’m thinking of vines and twigs as decoratins and for indoor or night event, fairy lights or lighted centerpieces.

I suppose it is doable. If that is what you want, that is what you want. When I think of red and silver I think formal wedding. I think of the colors of nature and perhaps pastel colors when I think of an enchanted wedding.

@haydee9: I kept thinking fairy lights too! But our venue needs to be vacated by 8pm, and the sun goes down at 9:30pm here in January, so had to can that idea 🙁
@2ndtime: Exactly! I kept thinking pastel colours but at the same time red is my FI’s favourite colour, and since most Fiance don’t have much input, I thought I’d have to incoperate THAT element at least! (he did speak up about that, how can I not have red? 😛 )
@creativeplannertobee: @lauraq123: Thx!!
@magg85: I am pretty keen on the branches with crystal hangings myself! The photos you’ve got posted gives an autumn enchanted wedding feel! Especially like the glasses with candles and crystal hangings in the picture!

I think you can totally do this. Check out the pics for Kate Moss’s wedding. Her flower girls were adorable. Also there is a pic of her with a long red coat over her dress in front of ivy. Kinda has a modern enchanted feel. You could also try searching YouTube for the wedding scene from the recent tv series Camelot. The wedding on there was beautiful. We were going to use it as inspiration. They mixed darker reds with a pale blue. Hope this helps.
