I walked down the aisle with my dad, and he gave me away again. Meant so much more this time around when he actually liked the guy I was marrying!

MrsUPS:  You could always pick the person in your family who you are closest to! My BFF walked down the aisle with her sister.

I walked down the aisle by myself & it felt fine.  Both of my parents are deceased.

My parents won’t be at the wedding and I will just be walking myself. I really wanted to walk with FI but he is a bit too traditional for that!

My dad walked me down the aisle. At both of my weddings, I was “presented” not “given”. 🙂

My father gave me away the first time, but he passed away 5 years ago. My older brother is going to do it this time.

MrsUPS:   My father passed away, so my mom will be walking me down the aisle.

My first wedding was a Quaker wedding. My then FI and I walked in together and after exchanging vows we walked out together as husband and wife.

I had both my mother and my father walk me up the aisle for my 2nd wedding. While I don’t regret doing it that way, I wish I had walked up by myself. I am not really a fan on the father/parents “giving” the bride away (especially for an encore wedding), even if that specific language is not used.

Do what feels right for you and your family.

I was going to have both my teenage boys but they don’t want to (they don’t like attention on them) so FI said that he didn’t want to be standing up there “waiting” either so we decided just to walk down together. I can’t wait. My dad said he’s totally cool with it and thinks it’s a great idea.

whoa_its_ash:  SO true! My dad INSISTS on walking me again, and he actually likes the guy this time around! I think that’s a good sign 🙂

MrsUPS:  your son could walk you, that would be so sweet! I’m going to have my daughter stand with me as a bridesmaid, she is so excited!
