We're going all out. We're having a joint stag and hen party (what we call bachelor/ette parties), then I'm having a bridal tea with my mum's generation (like a shower but without the presents).
We're having a rehearsal diner the night before the wedding, the wedding itself and a day-after barbecue plus we may have another lunch with my grandma two days after the wedding.
Then after two nights in a nice hotel in Scotland, we're flying out for a 24 night honeymoon in SE Asia.
Might have a wee party for the professional photos and video for the wedding party and our parents when we get them.
We aren't doing anything special. We didn't have a wedding party, and FI's parents live over 800 miles away. I am just excited for the wedding! We are going to Vegas to get married, and his family is meeting us there. It's kind of like our vacation/wedding rolled into one.
I am actually glad we weren't doing any of the parties, just alot more stress on us. Plus our enagment really wasn't all that long.
We are doing kind of a honeymoon thing though, we are going to a cruise to the Bahamas for our 1 year anniversary with his family. I am def looking forward to that too!!
Oops! I just realised that this is for second time brides and I'm not one.
This is my second wedding, FI's first. He had a bachelor party and I'm having a bachelorette party and his coworkers are throwing us a shower (otherwise, we're not having any showers). We're still doing the traditional rehearsal dinner to thank the wedding party, and we're definitely doing a first look so we don't have to wait to take photos until after the wedding.
My wife and I had two joint bachelorette parties, both given by friends. (Our wedding party consisted of my son and daughter, neither of whom lived in our area.) We rented a big house for all our wedding guests, and ordered in a bunch of pizzas the night before as our "rehearsal dinner." (There was no actual rehearsal.) And we served breakfast at the house the morning after the wedding.
We're doing it up, but differently. (I'm encore, it's his first time)
We're getting hitched in Vegas on our 8th anniversary--just the two of us.
Then a month later we're having my family up for my birthday on Thursday night, doing a Friday night combined bachelor/ette party out on the town with a party bus with siblings and friends, followed by a Sunday morning hosted family brunch.
It isn't too wedding-y but we still get the most out of our celebration weekend. :)

As an encore bride, I've struggled a little with wanting to 'go all out' and celebrate (because I am so over the top excited about marrying this man) and needing to be frugal (we both have families) and tasteful (second wedding for us both)...
So, I have been wondering, what special activities (if any) have other encore couples planned as a part of their wedding celebration?
Thanks for taking the poll!
