- Wedding: October 2013
Hi again Bees,
I got my ultrasound results back, and of course, nothing showed up. My doctor is convinced without a doubt that it is the endo being a jerk, since it has a terrible habit of not showing up on tests, and anything else (like a stomach mass, bowel tumour, etc) would have shown up by now. She has decided not to send me for a colonoscopy, because she is afraid that the colonoscopy could irritate the endo tissue and cause a bowel rupture – eek. So basically right now, we’re in this “holding pattern” until I am ready for surgery, which will not be until the spring, due to the wedding and then the holidays, and needing to be back at work a bit before taking off more (unpaid, sigh) time.
In the meantime, I’m basically just doing symptom control to get by day-by-day. This means drinking loads of water, eating lots of fresh fruit and veg, and listening to my body. She also called today and recommended I get a Squatty Potty, since the actual “going” part is being made difficult by adhesions.
So here’s where it gets weird/TMI: does anyone have a squatty potty? Have you found it useful? Is it easier/less painful to go? She said it would ease the cramping and help with the constipation – we’re working around the endo/adhesions since we can’t do anything about them right now.
